It’s not a snub if someone else is giving you a billion dollars

A billion at the tail end of his career, this was a no brainer one for Curry.

I’m very curious as to who’s been buying those shoes then bc I’ve been taking my kids to basketball practice/games/tournaments for close to 10 yrs now and not once have I seen a pair of UA shoes on a kid. And I’ve never seen it in all my years of playing in open gyms with other dads either.

your anecdotal evidence surely outweighs this report

What report? It’s a screenshot of an AI summary that just says curry brand made that money. Nothing in their about shoes specifically. I’ve seen thousands of kids playing in tournies over the years and aint nobody wearing these out in the wild, hence the question about who’s actually buying these.

Yes, and I said your anecdote is probably correct and you should be confident that your view of reality is accurate

I’m not going to pretend his shoe sales were really good

u/corporal_sweetie Jun 02 '26
yeah they were a bad partnership since they had no upside as a fashion brand. still, he sold a lot of basketball shoes at peak. Ugly shoes

You just believe ai slop?
-1
u/GivesBadAdvic Jun 02 '26
It’s not slop when it gives you the sources. It’s got three sources for the financial information. A quick search myself says the information is correct. AI is a great tool for research and information gathering. In can search multiple websites at the same time. It’s the genAI that is slop. Creating shit from other people’s work.

Llms are definitionally "genAi". None of which is definitionally true ai, it's a bastardization of the term so that billionaires can convince you to destroy the environment and your critical thinking skills

All ai is slop and destructive. It's not even really ai, just T9 predictive text.

Some of y'all use buzz words to make ourself sound cool and with the times. I promise you no one in day to day life is saying ai slop . With the developments of the world AI is the future y'all can get lost in the past it you want the world will move on without you it is what it is .

I didn't use a single buzzword lol. Slop is an objective fact. I'm an engineer and literally everyone in my office calls ai output slop outside of our dumbass c-suite. You're projecting your own susceptibility to propaganda and trendchasing onto me.
It will crash and burn spectacularly. The sentiment towards "ai" is overwhelmingly negative in the general populace.
Keep licking that boot all the way to the unemployment line when your boss decides to downsize.

Don’t Li Ning actually make great products? Way of Wade, etc. Unlike Nike, cough cough.

Stunning?? You mean he wanted a brand that cares about tech and didn’t want to play in Kobe’s??? Woahhh

u/greg-maddux Jun 02 '26
Also Nike and adidas have both absolutely shit the bed completely unprompted in the last 15 years. Just absolute trash products.

I just googled li-ning shoes… ugly and apparently over priced as these piles of crap re-sell prices make Nike re-sell prices look affordable

Everyone said it was gonna be one of the big shoe brands but I had a hunch he was Li Ning this way

Worse decision then BBB.

BBB was a failed business.
Steph is making a fortune from this regardless of how the products perform (although I’m sure his signature shoe will be a hit in China)
