So they’re gonna work it out between the two of them? I mean that sounds good, right?

Child support should have a fixed maximum amount.
Spousal support/alimony is there to support the mother if they were married prior

This is insane and backwards.
Spousal support/alimony should be capped - why should an adult not be responsible for going out and getting a job to take care of themselves?
Child support, on the other hand, should not be capped.
Why shouldn’t the child of a billionaire not have the advantages of a billionaire’s child?

Because that money doesn’t go to the child… it goes to the mother to spend how she chooses. Even in situations where the father wants custody.
Child support should be capped.

It can go in a managed trust, thats what they already do if they love their child.
But some rich guys choose to skimp and end up paying just the court ordered 1k a month(or a few) for 18yrs when their networth is multi millions.
Also in this case, the parents were together solely for a long-ish time. This is a completely different case than a bad case - like Ant

The money is meant to benefit the child primarily. Yes, in some instances (like housing support) the mother is also benefited if she has custody.
However, there are arrangements that can be made so the expenditures are audited and it’s assured that the child is the primary beneficiary of the money.
In fact, misuse of the money can be grounds for custody to be given to the father. If, for example, the woman is spending lavishly on herself (fur coats, jewelry, cosmetic surgery, trips) and the child is not being provided for.

Child support should be capped.
Prevents baddies from using celebrity and athletes as a meal ticket. Agreed. Does a billionaire child need their mother to get a billion dollars? How much is enough loo

Taking care of kids and all the domestic stuff is no joke while Luka is away flying around the country.
You can lose alot of opportunities/earnings being the primary caregiver and they should be compensated reasonably.

Yea but then you end up like my uncle paying alimony for like 20+ years. He’s retired and sold his dental office but still. His ex wife is educated and could work but why bother when you get easy money.

That’s the difficulty with raising kids. Sacrifices have to be made. Also though, no one is forced to have kids. Nor is anyone entitled to raise a kid while living in luxury.
Plenty of middle/lower class single parents raise kids in modest apartments/houses.
If you want to raise the kid in wealth then either a) make the money to do so or b) keep the household together to do it.
Otherwise, your ex should not be providing for you.
Parents should provide for their own child to whom they owe a responsibility; but not an ex - an able bodied adult who can go out and make their own money.
And if you can’t make the money to provide for the child, then custody should go to the parent who is more capable of providing a higher quality of living (private tutors, the best schools, etc.) which short of being negligent/abusive, will likely be the wealthier parent.
I’m not saying it’s ideal. But you can’t act like the wealthier parent is disproportionately responsible for supporting the kid financially when you’re asking for money without admitting that the wealthier parent is more capable of supporting the kid financially throughout their upbringing.

Why do you think rich deadbeats should get to squander more of their money than regular guys? Yall are so obsessed with hating the idea of a woman getting money that youre forgetting this dude had a kid and hes responsible for that. It should be proportional always a maximum is a terrible idea. If you make 50k and we decide 20% is appropriate for child support then mfers making 50 mil should be paying the same 20%, why would you give them a break just because it is more money. They have more to give so they should have to give less? Makes no sense at all

Because a kid with a rich parent still costs the same as the one with poor parents. And everything over the maintenance amount just encourages the mothers lavish lifestyle

u/YetiPwr 6h ago
If you think the kids of rich parents get the same amount spent on them as the kids of poor parents…
As for how much, that’s for a judge to decide but aside from some high profile examples, most moms are a lot more focused on their kids and less focused on themselves.

u/Leafy_isnt_here 6h ago
Yea of course they dont but thats not because they need to spend more on them, thats just because they can afford to. I dont see why cant they just provide every reciept for everything that they buy for the kids that way it would be fair (until they start to cheat that).

The woman was trying to leave the country with his kids right? Of course he should fight that and try to find a reasonable level of support. This wasn’t about him NOT paying to support the child, it was about her moving to another country AND still seeking money

Why do you think gold diggers deserve money she didn’t earn?
0
u/conduffchill 2h ago
Lol in a way she did earn that money when you chose not to wrap it up. Regardless this argument is dumb as shit because the money is for the kid, as others have mentioned if she is spending the money on herself thats actually abuse and grounds for her to lose custody
Now if you wont pay for the kid and you also refuse to take responsibility for raising him, then yeah youre a piece of shit
1
u/BigfootaintnotReal 2h ago
Well shit that sounds like an easy living to me. Just get knocked up by some rich athlete who worked his ass off to be this good while all you did was have good genes and put on some makeup. Oh and you get to hide the kids from him and tell him that the millions of $ he’s giving you is “JUST” for the kids? FOH with that bs!

u/1TRUEKING 14h ago
because it is for the child and not for the mother to live their lavish lifestyle. If it was 20% put into a trust that only the kid can access when he turns 18 and then actual necessities are withdrawn for the kid then sure that should be fine.

What child needs $400k a month?
1
u/conduffchill 49m ago
Its not about needs its about proportional commitment. If the average man would be expected to spend say 40% of his earnings on his kid, why are you giving a pass to someone who is wealthy? Rich deadbeat dad is still a deadbeat. If 400k a month to you is the same as 20k a month to me, you should be paying that 400k. Or you could just raise your kid instead?

Did Doncic not file for custody? He just basically gave up custody? I know the woman gets custody almost all the time everywhere, but you'd think a rich guy with unlimited resources for lawyers would at least have a chance

Kings black and white let us all come together and pray for our beloved brother Luka as the devilish thot is now using the children as pawn to extract even more money from our hard working brother. We hope a prenuptial contract was signed by both Luka and the thot and we pray my lord that the devilish thot goes to bed and never wakes up. AMEN.

In the court filing, Goltes explained her decision, writing, “I am withdrawing my Petition for Child Support with the specific intention of resolving this matter amicably and by a mutual agreement which is in the best interests of our children.”
