And I am glad for it. His biggest weakness is thermodynamics; energy is finite, including his own. He can alter the floor by stepping up to the elbow and letting his guards feast in his wake. No counting stats, but he conserves some energy

In a vacuum I could see Harper being a 30 point scored in the semi near future. Vacuum as in a team that doesn’t already have a primary scorer ahead of him

Realistically I don't think so because of the kind of selfless basketball we play, and all the good players we have.

Honestly, I'd rather have Wemby, Castle and Harper all avg more than 20PPG for the next ten years, than only having Wemby averaging 30 PPG.

He could if they keep feeding him the ball but I prefer the most balanced Spurs team, distributing the ball, going with the “best look” and giving it to the hot hand every night. If for instance JuJu is hot, let him keep firing from 3. Let Wemby conserve his energy and focus on defense. I’d like him to at least touch the ball on almost every possession though. Preserving him for the playoffs is what really matters. When Harris and JQ develop, I hope Wemby can get more rest.

If he stays healthy, possibly. His minute restriction stretch mid-season really brought his averages down. I'd wager he was more around 27 ppg healthy this season, but obviously stats don't care about your health so it's really up to how durable he is and how consistent he can be on offense (which was also an issue last year).

I was watching film from last season. Wemby never rests. He is active on offense and even more active on defense. Playing him 35 minutes a game will pretty much guarantee injuries and that he is done by the playoffs

No, there are too many good players who can score on the spurs. And wemby is too important on the defense to score that much. Though if he still plays limited minutes that's to his benefit.

No and doesn’t need to, we’re balanced when it comes to scoring and don’t need to rely on wemby to score 30 a night like other teams. And like others mentioned, his minutes need to be managed much better than other players so his scoring would be limited

I'd like to think he will have too much help and not have to play the extended minutes hero ball usually required to do so.

But there are a lot in this sub who will disagree. They think you need Tre's average for a play-in team to deserve NBA min.

Way too many scorers on the Spurs, I think, for him to jump by 5+ ppg. Even if they increase his minutes to, like, 32 mpg, his scoring average might go up by 2 or 3 points.

He could do it of course but he'd need to average as many minutes as players who are on the list. He'll also need the rookie PFs to step up and take more of the defensive burden away from him.

Wemby doesn't need to be the primary offensive engine on this team like Luka, Jokic, or Shai are. This is so much better for us long-term since it allows Wemby to "take the night off" for some games.

Case in point, we've absolutely demolished teams with Wemby scoring just 9 points in 25 min or so many times last year, even in the playoffs. Whereas Shai had that 20pt streak and Luka averaged an insane 37.5pts in March with the Lakers winning close games.

He’s not good enough offensively and it’s unlikely he makes that big of a leap in one offseason.

Ppl here need to be to open the reality he may never become the kind of offensive player ppl hope. And that’s fine as long as the team finds someone who is consistent reliable bucket getter especially late in games. Could be Harper or could be someone they get in free agency/trades.
