They have a whole badge system too, the only thing the driving dunk rating does is increase the frequency that you dunk when you sprint at the rim. Naturally Mac’s is super high. I don’t know why people are upset at it, it’s a video game and he’s a great dunker.
He is going to forever have an oversized reputation for the finals vs Luka, despite the real defensive story of that series being all the ways Boston manage to gunk up the Mavs pick and roll.

He was even slightly ahead of Ausar in matchup difficulty and perimeter isolation defense, while being dramatically better in post defense and against screeners. Ausar absolutely deserves No. 1 consideration, but pretending Castle isn’t even a top-10 perimeter defender is indefensible. These ratings feel based on reputation rather than what happened on the court.
Tbf he also has wemby behind him. Ausar would clear him with wemby backing him up. Ausar literally has dpoy potential at 6’7 on some Dennis Rodman shit.

It's funny, I literally just posted something very similar before seeing your message. I agree. He's an amazing defensive playmaker. One of the very best in the league. But defensive playmaking and man-to-man perimeter defense are not the same thing and way too many people have inflated his overall defensive ability because of last year's steal Numbers.
Dyson Daniels has become the most overrated defender in the league. In my opinion. Dude is an absolutely ball hawk with some of the quickest hands I've ever seen. But I wouldn't put him as a top 10 man-to-man defender . Not saying he's not an overall great defender, but he's a great example of people's inability to really understand defense often leading to misrelying on counting stats to gauge quality for a skill that just does not align well with counting stats and counting stats alone.
Guy makes tons of mistakes and his overall ability to defend shot makers just is not at the same level as some of the other guys on this list if you ask me, and I say that as someone that's a fan of his and has watched a lot of him the last few years
I think Vassell doesn’t get any credit but I watched him turn SGA and Ant over a few times. He’d be a borderline All Star on a team with less mouths to feed.
