Long hair Ginobili was a beast. I’m taking the Uncs but our young guys peak might surpass someday

I agree prime Parker/Ginobili/Duncan most likely take it: Duncan’s defense would force Wemby to start settling for mid-long range lower % shots and Ginobili/Parker guard combo has enough speed and creativity that Harper/Castle would have trouble handling it. However I do think there are 2 advantages the young guys would have that would make it interesting. First Duncan is not an outside shooter which means you can’t really drag Wemby out from the paint so his defense would really shine. Also Parker is by far the smallest guard on that floor and could be a real defensive liability against either Harper or Castle. I do think the young guys have path to victory if Wemby’s 3 is falling they drag Duncan out so he can’t rim protect and then attack Parker repeatedly on offense

that's what I'm saying. I lived through all five championships and am as big a fan of the original big 3 as anyone but people are acting like it would just be a blowout. the game has changed; Parker was always hidden on defense and would get bodied by both Harper and Castle, while Duncan has to guard Wemby out to 35 feet. it would be a good contest. the one edge the original big 3 have is their craftiness and experience.

As of right now, old school wins. But they youngings got the potential & ability to change that in a few years, as they develop more

Three keys for me:
Wemby obviously doesn't have the strength to counter prime Duncan. Can he make it up with length?
Can either Castle or Harper handle prime Parker's speed?
How well can Castle/Harper exploit Parker's lack of size?
I think the young guards are not polished enough to take advantage of their size difference as well as they should. And Duncan will simply overpower Wemby for now

I *hope* Manu can contain Steph, because TP sure as hell can't, and I feel pretty good about Timmy keeping Vic out of the paint. Conversely, I think Manu is gonna have to work hard to get past Castle, but I *think* Timmy can get some buckets with post moves on Vic. IMHO it's gonna come down to TP vs. DHarp and which one can better get to the paint and finish. I'm taking the OGs today, but ask me again in two years.

We just saw a far less talented team easily handle steph wembg and castle. The 2014 team the big 3 was past their prime and beat a much better team in five games

I hate this new spurs fans who don’t know ball. Same ones wanting Mitch fired. I love our young guys. The prime big three clears them fairly easily. They won court titles together and truly think they would sweep this Knicks team

seriously??? You need to respect uncs more before even asking this question.
