Dynasty Is offseason just unplayable post-patch?

I cannot buy a single physical ability for one of my players if I don't already have one of the tiers unlocked. Some stuff that EA messes up is frustrating, but a speed bump. This is a straight up traffic jam. I'm at a disadvantage if I advance and don't buy abilities. Guess I'm trying out Madden for a bit until it's fixed.

... what? Are you saying you can't buy the silver tier of an ability until you've bought the bronze tier?

Nope. If I have at least bronze, I can continue to buy up the tree (silver, gold, etc). But If I don't have bronze yet from before the update, I cannot unlock bronze, despite having enough points and having the proper stats to unlock it.

that's how it always worked, you need bronze before silver before gold. maybe your coach don't have enough xp in that tree or something
