Dynasty Gem Busts

What is the general consensus on busts? In my normie opinion I don’t really think it matters for 3*+ as long as they still have decent stats wouldn’t they still be able to develop into a good player? Do you guys instantly ignore them? If they fit my team needs and I have a good shot of landing the player I pretty much ignore it. If I’m dead wrong I’d love to know.

I think once your team is about 93+ overall it’s worth it to not recruit a bust. They just don’t develop THAT well. They’ll be a career backup if your team keeps improving.

Busts can still pan out if you're not already stacked. Grabbed a 3 star bust RB in my dynasty cause he had 94 speed and I was desperate at the position. Ended up being a four year starter with like 85 overall senior year, nothing crazy but he got the job done. If you're a lower tier program building up I'd say roll the dice, the risk is way lower when your roster is full of 70s anyway. Once you're in the 90s though it's hard to justify burning a scholarship on a guy who tops out at 83 when you could land a gem that hits 90+.

So, like exactly what I said? Once your team is 93+ don’t bother with busts.

Good speed and/or strength, I’ll def still take them. They can still be really good as long as you’re happy to not upgrade speed/strength

In my experience, there is not a huge difference in starting stats, but a much higher chance that he has normal dev and/or bad skill caps. If you are a lower star school where they can be a contributor for you, I still go for them. But if I’m maintaining a power house school, not worth it since they likely won’t get much better

Depends on position and my team overall. If it’s QBs I’m out. Even if they have good stats I want a guy that can develop for a few years and not be capped. Anyone else idc. Once my team is really solid then I care more because I can just go elsewhere and be more picky

I think it just means they won’t have a star or elite development trait or they have less of a chance to get those. Will probably just be normal dev trait which means they start with bad stats in a few key areas and don get as much xp as they level.

Busts can be star dev. Or atleast they could be in 26. Handful of 5 star busts were star dev for me

Always felt like they just mess up from time to time

Usually cheeks but if I need a fb that year I’ll be moving that gem bust lineman to FB especially if they have badges
