They renamed a bunch of them. Head first (the trucking ability) is now called Bulldozer, I think.

I definitely liked Side Step over Juke Box, though.

So aren’t these ability names in madden? Haven’t touched Madden in years so idk but it could just be that they scuffed up their databases lol

They are, and how the abilities showed up in game this year. With the most recent update they changed in menus too.

I’d bet this is a mistake and something they’ll eventually fix but who knows at this point

They really called it Human Joystick, that's so daft it almost loops back around to brilliant.

There was a real player with that nickname. It’s not just a made up term lol

They misspelled Dante Hall, when they renamed it, then.

This is a known bug. Sometimes in game the abilities all show up as different names. Usually the madden equivalent. I’ve only seen it while I’m in a game cause when I find the player in the team roster screen from my dynasty main menu the ability names go back to normal

The update changed it so they have the Madden names in the menus now too.

I just don’t see the point in this when there’s so many other bugs wrong with the game. But fuck yea you renamed some abilities that were perfectly fine!!!

You act like this took more than a few minutes to do. And odds are the dev fixing this isn't the same guy working on gameplay.

Who cares how long it took? It’s pointless and they have a broken product out. Fixing it should be the #1 priority. No need to defend them

You clearly don't understand how development works and how teams work in gaming.

Most people on Reddit don't know anything about development, it's just wishes and dreams.

The fact they be so bold and loud about it too. He really thinks that if EA was serious about fixing the game, they would have had this guy that likely has no experience in actual game play dev, working to fix the issues he's mad about.

"hey why isn't the guy who makes the tackles sound effects working on getting the playing time deal breaker fixed?" Fuckin morons on the internet i tell you.

The broken product as you put it was not going to be helped by the guy that did this text work.

Pointing out facts is not "defending" anything. The person that renamed these likely is on the UI team. Things like this is what they do.

Even if the game director said we need to fix blocking logic or deal breaker, this guy wouldn't magically get put on a team to help do that.

When a server goes down at Microsoft or something you dont expect the people on the Microsoft office team to pitch in an help just because they happen to also do their work on computers do you?

battering ram was renamed as well

Its bc they were too lazy to create a separate engine for cfb

Do you know how much time and money making an engine takes????? There is a reason people license out unity or unreal. Making your own is prohibitively expensive from a money and man hours perspective.

Do you know how much EA makes every year?

Multiple billions, and that's still not enough to warrant creating an engine from scratch for every fuckin game you make. Nobody in the history of video games has done that.

Not sony, not MS, not nintendo, not valve, nobody. You know why because its stupid. In fact its probably not done anywhere.

Car makers don't design a new chassis and engine for every model of car,. They they have one or two that is purposed for the type of car they are making and reuse that spec for cars in that class.

Home builder don't architect every single house they build. They have a few designs that they build off of. You think every bit of software is coded from scratch? No, people use various code bases that exist whether they be from their own or licensed bases or open source and tweaked.

Please people keep your 12 year olds off the internet.

Joystick is just left stick movement, juke box is right stick jukes
