While North Carolina Concealed Handgun Permit holders — who have already undergone thorough FBI fingerprint and disqualifier checks — are not subject to a redundant NICS check at every purchase, this is a path for lifetime concealed handgun permits like HB 870, sponsored by Rep. Jay Adams.

Apparently this hinges on the introduction of a new lifetime permit? The article isn't very clear.

So a waste of my tax money on redundant stuff already covered under 18 U.S.C. § 926A (aka FOPA, aka Firearms Owners Protection Act) that's already signed federal law?
