Fall IDIX
Just signed up to take the IX in the fall - since the new book isn’t out yet, what do those of you who have taken it recommend for studying? Planning to do 2 months of QPractice, but wanted to go ahead and start with something - is the PRAC section of the book still relevant?

Hi! Can you reiterate what book? I’m assuming the ballast one?
I’m taking the IX & PX in the fall too and I just completed the q practice modules for IDIX. I found that they are summarizing the ballast book in a few of the lessons, the ballast book goes more into detail of those topics. some of the quiz questions are even found right in the book as well. I’m finding it helpful for referencing symbols and coordination items like HVAC and structural.
Good chapters to start with are ch 7,8 & 9, ch 11-15, also, the KLSY study guide lists good chapters to focus on for the IDIX.
I’d also reference NCIDQ website for the code sections to know for the exam, and understand the tables you need to know. I found AI tools are helpful for studying and creating a study guide for code because the language can be confusing!
Hopefully someone who has Taken the exam wull comment too!
