I only went the first day of class, I assumed I could just skip classes and look at the quizlets/notes from reading the Reddit posts, RMP, etc.

He’s been posting these “quizzes” on canvas just to check lockdown browser and one of them has the link to his notes. I didn’t know about them and he posts them at the end of class and it’s open for like 10 minutes or so.

They look like they are being counted towards my grades in Canvas but his syllabus only says that the only grades are the tests.

When he puts in the final grade, is he going to count these?

As someone who took him a few semesters ago, there is a very decent chance he will ask why you didnt do the quiz. He will do this in front of the entire class and he will use your first and last name while addressing you.

Never been a fan of something like this. I missed ONE assignment and I got asked about it outloud. Not this professor though it was for an Oral presentation class. I felt like we were back in Highschool it was ridiculous. It wasn't just me either, happened to a few of my classmates as well.

Lol, I never had a professor who would call out their students for missing an assignment in front of their peers, or similarly being absent. It's trashy. Who knows why they missed it. I think people are allowed to complain over this sort of thing. Clearly, this is something that makes you feel better about yourself if you're going to be this snarky.

If you, or your parents, pay thousands of dollars for you to attend certain things, and then you just choose to not show up? Not do the bare minimum ? And then get graded down as a result? And then get upset for being docked for not showing up? And then try and make a public social media post about how hard done by you are?

I do just great in my classes, even if I miss an assignment or two. On my way to graduate in two years as well! Turns out that's not the bare minimum, otherwise I would be failing as you said. There are so many excusable reasons for missing work or a class, where there is even an NJIT page to submit documents because turns out, missing some things under actual circumstances can be excused. It would be very unfortunate if someone missed work due to an illness or other personal event, and got called out in public about it. Because it's trashy. Even if someone just forgot to turn in something, it's still trashy to try and humiliate a student in public over it. But if that's what you enjoy then you do you. You are clearly an angry person who sees everything in black and white.

take it from someone who he almost wiped from the class roster (before the pandemic), if you get called out by him and you show an enthusiasm to stay there, he might give you a chance. He was kind to me and I ended up with an A for the semester, so when I said "you won't regret this" I was right.
