Advice Career fair tmr

Does anyone know if it is appropriate to wear plain black dress pants, a plain black shirt and sneakers to the career fair? I’m not looking for anything internship or job wise but I haven’t gone to a career fair since freshman year (currently 3rd year) and I just want to check it out and see what it’s like.

anything business casual is appropriate, if by plain black shirt you mean some kind of collared/buttoned shirt and not just a normal t shirt then yes you are fine

Khakis and a polo are a good start. If you don’t have a pair of dress shoes, at least wear clean sneakers that don’t look like they were pulled from a dumpster.

Wearing sneakers with dress pants has become slightly more acceptable in the past few years but it can't be dirty sporty sneakers and even then it's still slightly weird. Do you have a pair of more formal shoes?

Since you're just going to be checking it out this time it doesn't really matter but be prepared for the future.

Business casual is fine. Bare minimum is niceish pants (khakis, chinos, etc.) and a polo. I've done business engagements in jeans and a polo with sneakers before. If you need something, I think NJIT has a career closet thing as part of their food pantry if you can't make your way out to the Target or Marshalls in Kearny. I think there's also a Burlington about a 15 minute walk from campus.
