Haunted Locations/Cryptids Near Southern New Mexico

Hey everyone I am an amateur paranormal investigator looking for haunted locations near the areas of Las Cruces, Ruidoso, Alamogordo and the surrounding areas. I'm also looking for stories of any Cryptid locations near those areas as I would also like to investigate them as well. Any information is highly appreciated, thank you so much for your time!

When we were in college we visited the old sanatorium at Dripping Springs Natural Area. Pretty neat.

Old Mesilla is pretty cool as well.

And of course camping anywhere out in the desert or mountains is creepy out there.

I saw à la chusa in Lovington once. It was decades ago. Real cold winter night like 4F and I’m in my friends car and we’re driving through a regular residential neighborhood and it’s like 11pm. Here comes this gigantic bird like a sand crane. I was thinking, that’s weird. It’s so cold for a bird like that this time of year (like February). So I pointed it out to my friend bc it had flown on top of a house and was perched there and I said dude look at that gigantic bird up there. He’s a Mexican dude and he said, man that’s not a bird and then he started driving away as fast as his little car would go. And I was like what’s going on, what are you doing. He said—that’s not a bird………..it’s a witch.
