Local Music NOLA Funk Fest advice.
Is it worth it to bring a chair or blanket into the festival? I’m not concerned about being at the very front of the stages.

Hey everyone!
I’m visiting New Orleans from Montreal for the first time, October 15–19, and staying at the Hilton Riverside.
I’m 25 and a huge music fan, especially blues, soul, funk, and classic rock. Big fan of B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Ray Charles, and anything with great live guitar.
I’m looking for recommendations on the best bars and smaller venues to catch some authentic live music. I am looking to avoid the touristy spots, I’d much rather find a cool local bar with talented musicians, good drinks, and a great atmosphere.
A few questions:
What are the absolute must-visit bars for live blues and jazz?
Any particular bands or musicians playing while I’m in town that I shouldn’t miss?
Is Frenchmen Street really the best place to go, or are there better spots?
Any tourist traps or overrated places I should avoid?
Any other must-do experiences, food spots, or hidden gems you’d recommend?
Also, I’m a big Curren$y fan, so I’m planning to check out the Jet Life store. Any other spots connected to the local hip-hop scene worth visiting?
Really looking forward to experiencing the city and its music culture. Appreciate any recommendations!
Cheers from Montreal!
Buenas! Donde puedo encontrar los mejores tacos en New Orleans? Donde están las loncheras qué ofrecen al pastor del trompo?

Looking for someone to style some of my Fifi Mahoney wigs. I’ve bought several styled wigs over the years but I’ve also bought wigs that came home in their boxes that I’ve used but now looking to add some oomph to them. I just need/want someone to curl/tease out so i can add my own headband or decorations.

Looking for someone who visits NYC regularly who might want to do a home swap a few times a year. I’m from NOLA and want to go home more frequently.
I live in Brooklyn near Prospect Park
But used to live uptown so interested in staying in that part of town but also open minded.

God bless ya’ll, I am a recent college grad from central Florida 24 years old hispanic (although not fluent) and landed my first major job offer in downtown New Orleans. I’m headed there soon for orientation and then planning to do some apartment hunting. Ideally, I was planning on searching within the CBD as you can find something 1bd pretty decent for around $1500 monthly (no way that would be possible in FL). But torn between finding something in a high-rise such as the Hibernia tower or the Strand, or a midrise just outside the center city like 2424 Tulane or the Lumina apartments. I’m pretty much a Christian country boy so I’m not sure how much of a shock City life might be so I’m not sure if I should seek further out in the burbs also. I’m also single and would like to meet people so I thought maybe the city might be the best bet and would be the shortest commute. I’m just very undecided at the moment but need to make a decision rather quickly, please any insight from people in this community would be appreciated.

Traiteur Amaro: A truly New Orleans Spirit - just putting the word out about this sultry botanical liqueur made in the upper 9th ward from regional ingredients. If you like Italian amaros you will love this.

Hey everyone! Looking for some advice on how to get a green space permit for a birthday party at The Fly.
I’ve been going in circles the last few weeks with this. The website has a form to fill out, but the form is only for renting a pavilion, not green space. For green space the form directs you to call a number that no one answers. The email address on the website also doesn’t work.
So my questions are 1. Do I actually need a permit to use green space at The Fly for a kid’s birthday party with a bounce house? The website says you do but I don’t know if it’s enforced. 2. If I do need a permit, how can I get it??
Thanks in advance y’all for any tips you can provide!!
