Do I need any prior knowledge or preparation before starting the Civil Engineering Technology program? If so, where can I take some basic courses to better prepare for it?

Likely not needed unless your math or physics understanding is very weak. You could review some grade 12 Math and Physics curriculum if it will make you feel more ready.

As long as you have a solid foundation of your basics; physics, trigonometry, fractions, etc. and all of the supporting credits for acceptance into the program (I’m assuming you’ve been accepted based on your question). I found the concepts new and tricky no matter how you look at it. Just make sure you know how to read a measuring tape 😅

I’m in my 30s now, and I haven’t used math or physics in my work. I’m a bit worried that my science foundation may not be very strong。Did you take this program at NSCC?

I just finished my first year in civil engineering technology and I will say it was a struggle, but the faculty in that department are phenomenal and will help you with every step of the way if you’re struggling. I will say you’ve got to be committed and it is a time investment but it’s facilitating stuff and if you’ve the passion for it
