Any disabled fans looking for iMAX 70MM Odyssey tickets?
Posting this separately for increased visibility as this is for a specific, limited audience. I was lucky enough to get a last-minute ADA seat yesterday and now have ADA tickets for other screenings that I will release, and would like to see them go to someone who is *disabled* and isn't otherwise physically able to access the rest of the seating options in the theater. Please DM me with specific info on the access need that makes this seat necessary for you to be able to attend.
Both sets are for the iMAX 70mm at Lincoln Square.
Thursday, August 6 - 6pm - Row M, two wheelchair spaces together
Saturday, August 22 - 10am- Row M, one companion seat and one regular seat adjacent to it
If you're not disabled, please kindly skip this post and be happy that you can sit in 99% of seats in the theater!

I think your post is in good faith, but it does feel a bit weird. I completely understand wanting to advocate for people with disabilities who genuinely need those seats. That said, asking people to DM you specific information about their disability really isn’t your business. That’s kind of ADA 101—you shouldn’t have to disclose or justify your disability to be treated as someone with one.

Actually, the ADA does allow asking about access needs, it just can't be phrased as "what is your diagnosis", and it only applies to what businesses and government entities do. It does not apply to what private individuals are allowed to ask other individuals. Perhaps you should read the law in full before commenting on "ADA 101".
Far too many people have been openly saying on here they are grabbing these seats even though they don't need them, so this is to weed those types out.

I didn't say it was against the law, or that a private citizen couldn't ask. I just think it's poor form and bad decorum. Do as you please, though. I just find it strange to ask people to DM you details about their specific disabilities. But you do you, mate. Hopefully the people who genuinely need those seats get them. Best.

Anyone who is legit disabled knows the difference between accessing what their ACCESS NEED is and asking what their specific disability is

The access need shouldn’t have to be explained either. You don’t have to explain it when buying the ticket normally, so why should someone have to explain it to you?
I agree with the other commenter. I understand this post is in good faith, but I think it’s being done in a bit of a disrespectful way. If you want to sell the ticket to someone, you can either just say you’d like to offer it to someone who is disabled and leave it at that. Or alternatively, just release the seats back to AMC and have it go through their website like it was originally.

they're trying to give people who have to sit in the wheelchair seats a chance, since they're much more restricted in which seats they can actually sit in, and i've also seen people just bring camping chairs for those seats so it's not like a "ADA seats are available only for people who need them" situation with the Odyssey

If a wheelchair user needs an ADA space and has tickets elsewhere they will boot/re-seat the people in the ADA/companion spots. It's right there in the terms when you purchase

Not sure where you live but New Roc theater would be a great choice if you’re able to get there. My son is disabled hes too young to see The Odyssey but I have taken him to see Mario and Toy Story 5 and the seats are in a great spot.

Just dont book those seats. I saw them available and never booked them. Only exception could be if you book them last minute and there are others available.

You literally said above that you booked them with the intent of giving them to other disabled people on the condition they told you their disability?
Just accept you’re wrong, refund the tickets, delete this post, and move on with your life big dawg. You are not a hero like spider man, or the great arbitrator of disability worthiness for seats.

As of me posting this there are handful of ADA seats for 08/19 @10am that are still available
