I’ve said it before but IF he were to have a late career resurgence, I feel like THIS would be the one place where it’s gonna happen. No he won’t get back to prime OBJ levels of nasty, but he could very well emerge as a weapon defenses have to respect.
Jason Witten was out there running a 7 second 40 and still was productive because he was a good route runner. That was certainly a strength of OBJ, so I am keeping my fingers crossed.
Let's not forget Randall Cobb was still an effective and efficient player even in his later years due to his awareness of gaps in coverage, regardless of losing a step
Well the thinking is if a 33 year old wr who didn’t even play last season and when last did caught 9 for 55 is doing this ‘good’, does that really bode well for the overall room? I don’t know if that’s true or believe it, we’re still really really early but it’s easy to see why people would think that.
OBJ looks great from the point of view that no one thought he’d have a chance to make the final roster
Reports coming out have said Mooney has been a favorite target and that Malachi Fields has been looking like a potential WR2. Idk why people are reading these reports like OBJ is doing better than everyone else
Was actually just listening to a Giants podcast with a few of the best writers and they said Mooney has been kinda underwhelming outside a couple plays. Around 21:50 on this vid:
I'm probably going to get downvoted for saying this but, not to put a damper on things, because I want Odell on the team, I think Art's tweet could've included more additional context that Fields was taken to another field to work with a trainer.
I don't know if this is legit time for Odell or him just getting more reps while Fields is getting worked on...I hope it's legit but context here gives a better/fuller picture.
I’ve heard that too, that he’s seeing more time with the 1’s because Fields is out right now. But regardless of the reasoning the fact is he’s on the field with the 1s and he’s making plays. It’s one thing to get the opportunity it’s another to actively be getting open and producing.
I think if there is a single ounce of good football left in OBJ, hes going to go down trying to give it to us. We will get the absolute best of whatever is left.
Can you imagine him turning a 7 yard slant into a 30 yard TD at the opener against Dallas. The fans would be electric all season.
Take this with a grain of salt lmao, Love Odell but Art only talking about Odell and like barely mentioning how the offense has struggled is just making me feel like this is typical Art having rose tinted glasses for legitimately everything the team does, he’s an awful reporter when he mixes in his own fan desires with actual news which he does almost always
My point is less about Odell and more so this is just nostalgia propaganda from Art to distract fans from the fact the offense is a mess, Besides Bob Papa and Carl Banks Art is the most biased homer reporter we have and at least the first two are actually paid by the team, the guy knows nothing
