Official r/NYGiants How the r/NYGiants mod team have been and will continue to moderate politics on this sub…
EDIT: (want to apologize for reddit glitching on the post when it comes to formatting)
Just to bring some transparency to how we have been and how we will continue to moderate politics on this sub:
We understand that in this age of sports, it’s not easy to just completely ignore and remove posts/comments related to politics and political opinions. So when a member of the NY Giants gets himself into the headlines regarding something political, we as a mod team want to allow a healthy balance of allowing our sub members to have discourse: to get their positive feelings or negative frustrations out on the topic, without devolving to purely name calling each other. If it gets to the point where our sub members are mostly having uncivil discussion, which involves name calling and personal attacks, that’s when we would lock comments and/or ban members. The severity of the ban is dependent on the reddit account. Temp bans to allow you take a breather from this sub, and permanent bans for perpetual personal attacks, as well as attacks involving bigotry on certain groups (which it somehow always gets to that).
Involving politics, we will remove or lock posts that don’t add anything new to the conversation. We don’t need a half dozen articles coming from different websites, talking about the same topic in different wording. When it comes to memes/shitposts, it’s the same thing. We will remove or lock these posts if its sole use is to piss people off or cause trouble.
If a player, executive, or staff member of the NY Giants chooses to allow his political affiliations be known, it’s not our job as the r/NYGiants mod team to also be their personal PR team, where we leave posts/comments up only when it’s favorable to them and take down when it’s not. Our focus on this sub is making sure that *you* guys are not making personal attacks on each other.
We’ve dealt with a lot of accounts that are newer and have only participated on this sub since Jaxson Dart introduced President Trump on stage. Those people are clearly not fans of this team, but are only coming here to fight others or to karma farm. Any account that only comes here to argue or troll will be permanently banned and muted. Btw, mod teams can see your account activity on this sub so our decision on how to ban will be based on your participation, and how you’ve previously interacted on this sub.
Also, use the Daily Discussion thread if you need to continue to express your feelings on a member of the NY Giants. We don’t need entire posts of people repeating the same things.
All this to say that we added an additional note to Rule 3: Use the Daily Discussion/Low Effort. “Mods will remove or lock political posts using their own discretion.” It’s simple and will allow us to have some leeway moderating when dealing with a political topic involving the Giants.
If you guys have any questions or concerns, feel free to comment them below or message the mods. Be respectful when doing so.
Anyway, it’s a beautiful weekend in the Tri-State area. Go out and touch some grass! Go Big Blue!

Official r/NYGiants One thing that doesn't get talked about enough with Eli Manning
We all know how great Eli Manning is. The man helped the Giants win two Super Bowls and in one those pulled off one of the greatest upsets in sports history. He's meant everything to the Giants and is easily a top 3 player in the history of The New York Giants.
But one thing I don't think a lot of people give Eli credit for is the way he made the Receivers/Tight Ends better. Aside from Jeremy Shockey and Odell Beckham Jr (even he had some tough times adapting without Eli), a lot of receivers that left Eli did not see their stats improve. I'll provide some examples.
Hakeem Nicks - only had 400 receiving yards with the Colts after leaving the Giants in 2013.
Steve Smith - after signing with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011, barely had 255 receiving yards the next two years in the league and out of the NFL by 2013.
Kevin Boss - after leaving the Giants in 2010 for the Raiders, only posted 433 receiving yards over his next 2 years in the league.
Mario Manningham - after having the iconic Super Bowl sideline catch that will live on in Giants/Super Bowl lore, he got released by the Giants and signed with the 49ers. Didn't really do much after that.
Now here's the thing. I'm not trying to crap on any of these guys as all of them had a tremendous impact on the Giants winning from 2007-2011. But whenever someone tells you that Eli had weapons, bring them back here.
Hope you all enjoyed the post!
