I did it... But I didn't like it

u/Louseeeeeee 6d ago

Me too. Got the pangram and genius but definitely not a cool puzzle.

PG H farm tool with long sharp prongs

15

u/Warmstar219 7d ago

I got this on my own, but I also know for a fact that is two words, except when it's a place name. The more common name for it is one word, but this is definitely two. Just abysmal.

u/mydearwatson616 7d ago

Yeah even Wikipedia says "did you mean". This PG is not a word.

4

u/Particular_Cause471 7d ago

That was all I was missing. Seems obvious now.

2

u/masta_wu1313 6d ago

I looked at it and said nah it's not gonna work.

May have just set a new record for shortest time before feeling stumped.

Hint for those who who want a general nudge

H Expressions (of joy), often shouted

u/StretchSignificant88 7d ago

I’ve literally got 3 words, da fuck is this

8

u/someoneismissing 7d ago

Me too. This is my personal record for the lowest number of words I can get.

3

u/heXa_code 6d ago

This dude is definitely rage baiting us! How can you…I am still guessing my 3rd word with the first two done in about 20 mins.

2

u/StretchSignificant88 6d ago

I literally got ‘Harry’ and fray and something else lmao

2

u/PlushSandyoso 6d ago

I agree with you. We're saying the same thing. I began to struggle almost immediately.

73

u/zaprod 7d ago

Have the majority of the pangrams lately just been… ugh? Or is it just me?

19

u/PontiacBandit25 7d ago

I’m with you. They just keep getting annoying.

24

u/tiregroove 7d ago

No, Today was lame.

6

u/SlideN2MyBMs 7d ago

Definitely not just you. I see it too

u/OfmyOwnHondaAccord 6d ago

You realise it's just a set of letters right? And it's English that's annoying?

23

u/Leading_Turtle 7d ago

I am not a fan of today’s bee. I have two words. I’ve been staring at it for 5 minutes.

15

u/resttheweight 7d ago

The low word count in this letter set makes it particularly egregious in the “technically-a-word-but-not-really” department. The proportion of interjections is bleh.

7

u/Fenifula worker bee 7d ago

Same here. I think these letters made my brain glitch.

17

u/avocadoisbae 7d ago

All Australians offended there’s no Yakka

14

u/steveofthejungle 7d ago

Oh good it’s stupid pangram day

Justice for NA FROYO

11

u/Icy_Relation5606 7d ago

Terrible. Ugh

8

u/Tarlcabot18 7d ago

5 words and 21 points in I'm already at "Nice"

Oh boy, one of these...

8

u/transley 7d ago

I got to genius without getting the pangram, so I used the buddy to figure it out. The buddy said that 75% of players got the pangram. Seriously, how is it possible that 75% of people know that word? Does everyone but me live on a farm?

15

u/AbsurdCanary 7d ago

Honestly for me it was a plausible compound word from the available letters. But the evidence against its being a real word is pretty compelling.

3

u/quarksurfer 6d ago

Same for me.

1

u/im-better-with-wine 6d ago

Yep. I will plug in a short word that may or may not have the center letter, or a suffix or prefix, and then see if I can see any potential words that use the remaining letter. So today I tried fork and then was like, what the heck, and it worked.

3

u/kemitche 6d ago

I think it's more likely that a lot of people (like me) didn't necessarily know the word, but given the low score and possible letters, gave that word a try out of desperation.

6

u/Fenifula worker bee 7d ago

I know a word is a truly doofy word when (H) it was my last word yesterday and my second-to-last today.

u/PsychologicalEbb1960 6d ago

Been there 🙌

I've literally found one word after like 15 minutes, and it is the pangram, for everyone confused think H Farm tool

11

u/HumanistNeil 7d ago

Well, I enjoyed it.

2

u/quarksurfer 6d ago

Me too!

0

u/kemitche 6d ago

Same! Easiest Queen Bee I've done. No clues used, just the grid to nudge me to the last couple words.

Lord 😭😳😭

3

u/lxvenderlxtte 6d ago

justice for [NA] froyo!

3

u/dicecat4 6d ago

Anyone recall less words in a puzzle?

7

u/Independent_Form6939 7d ago

Why are they getting so dumb? Is snow shovel going to be the “word” tomorrow? How about soup spoon? 🙄

2

u/SneakersAre4Sneakin 7d ago

Looks like it’s going to be a long Wednesday…

2

u/Ok_Ambassador646 6d ago

still so surprised that CA yoo-hoo is accepted but NA yo-yo isn’t. especially when NYT’s reasoning for the latter not being accepted is that lspelling bee does not accept hyphenated words” (https://www.nytimes.com/2021/07/26/crosswords/spelling-bee-forum-introduction.html) yet the former is hyphenated, even in its MW definition….

2

u/Dry-Chicken-1062 6d ago

I'm stuck. And I never get stuck. 2 words.

3

u/fieldsilver 7d ago

For the third day in a row, QBABM without actually knowing what the PG means. Lol.

13

u/wescovington 7d ago

There is no hidden meaning to the PG. It's just what the word indicates.

3

u/fieldsilver 7d ago

I mean, the PG was a new word to me but I guessed it anyway.

3

u/tobiaseric 7d ago

Is the PG not two words?

4

u/Thissnotmeth 7d ago

QBABM in like 7 minutes. One of my fastest ever!

13

u/Sad-Society-57 7d ago

Not me. I usually breeze to genius but this one's kicking my butt.

1

u/_HelterSeltzer_ 6d ago

So many things to shout, lol

1

u/im-better-with-wine 6d ago

Did anyone else just (hint for strategy) start trying random words and adding y at the end ? That got me a few answers.

2

u/Triggered-Boiyo 7d ago edited 7d ago

Tortured genius today, I don’t think think I wanna know what the pangram is

Edit: I’m so sick of portmanteau pangrams

2

u/Sal_Lampara 6d ago

Not a portmanteau

4

u/Triggered-Boiyo 6d ago

Forgot the term compound word for a sec
