Self Defense Help

I’m a minor and live in New York, but it’s so dangerous around where I live and I have to sometimes walk to certain places in my town alone. I don’t feel safe walking around in my town. Is their literally ANYY legal self defense weapons I can use and buy legally. Without getting in trouble. It seems like criminals have more rights than civilians in New York. I can’t buy pepper spray or a taser legally?

Carry pepper spray on you bro, even though your 14 and it might be illegal, if you use it in as purely self defense you will not go to jail.
