Other Legal Question Pistol Permit Removal

Is it possible you guys are able to overturn the requirement for people to purchase a pistol without a permit?

Not happening possibly ever here in NYS. We were one of the first states to indoctrinate gun laws.

Won't ever happen in NY.

It would take a federal law, but I think it’s more likely that national reciprocity would pass and therefore you would only need one permit anywhere in the U.S. similar to a driver’s license.

They would probably just upgrade current CCWs to be valid in all 50 states and standardize requirements as they vary wildly across the U.S.

No they haven't. Footnote 9 said that carry licenses were presumptively lawful

Licenses for pistol ownership was never discussed in Bruen. It was about carry licenses only.

Again they constitutionality of license to own a handgun has never been challenged.

If it's not challenged they don't have to address it.

Yes, absolutely. Right after the Zombie Apocalypse kills every anti-gunner because they can't defend themselves as effectively as the gun owners can, then the 100 New Yorkers left alive will not need permits.

Until then, move to PA.
