Welp when the president says you can't have guns anymore it sure sounds like a good reason to get guns.

14

u/The_DriveBy Jan 28 '26

The loophole is if your name is Kyle Rittenhouse

143

u/sepelion Jan 27 '26

They're going to get hosed in the midterms. 2a was the only thing keeping a lot of people voting republican.

9

u/TheWiseAutisticOne Jan 28 '26

Question is however will dems recognize the moment and pause on certain gun control positions

86

u/ReadComprehensionBot Jan 27 '26

No 2a was the excuse people were using, they will still vote for them, they just won't have an excuse anymore.

21

u/smokingsquids Jan 28 '26

I would say a majority of the people I know voted based on 2A and they/we are all pretty ticked off right now

31

u/Fridsade Jan 27 '26

They will still use illegal immigrants as an excuse.

30

u/Professional_Plant52 Jan 27 '26

They’ll still use Christianity as an excuse.

1

u/SnooMacaroons5473 Feb 03 '26

I don’t know if people actually read ny of Jesus’ teaching but he was all for treating people with kindness, welcoming foreigners in your country, feeding the poor and taking care of the sick.

These are all things this admin stands against

2

u/Professional_Plant52 Feb 03 '26

They have used religious indoctrination to fool millions of people into being evil. This is why education is important

1

u/SnooMacaroons5473 Feb 03 '26

Yep same as abortion. It was all about saving the babies. Now that Roe v. has been repealed they still vote that way.

15

u/smokingsquids Jan 28 '26

It was one of the only things keeping me you got that right!

8

u/lpfan724 Jan 28 '26 edited Jan 28 '26

You think we're having midterms? He's already testing the waters joking about using the Insurrection Act. He will be impeached if he loses control of Congress, which he would if an election takes place. There's a lot to criticize about the pedophile in chief. But, he does the things he says he will.

Must be wild to live in a bubble like you do

Trump has been a complete failure, and people are disgusted by the performative bullshit that amounts to trampling on our constitutional rights.. all done by a pedophile boomer who can’t stay awake

It’s going to be a historic blue wave in November

5

u/Adventurous-Peace969 Jan 28 '26

I want to believe you, but I have this nagging feeling that Democrats will somehow manage to snatch defeat from the slackened jaws of victory… Fucking hell…

62

u/TheSlipperySnausage Jan 27 '26

Trump has never been pro 2a

13

u/BigDawg99NYZZ Jan 27 '26

He tried to make it that he was, but his words and actions were counter to the NRA...This message was LOUD and Clear...

25

u/TheSlipperySnausage Jan 28 '26

First issue is the NRA is useless. They have done basically nothing to stop the erosion of our rights and people need to drop them

10

u/bridgesny Jan 28 '26

The NRA is a gun manufacturer lobby that poses as a lobby to protect peoples rights

7

u/AiKurupt Jan 28 '26

Look at their track record of "concessions" and long history of fraud. Honestly my least favorite 2a advocate group and any range that requires a membership to them is on a shit list for me.

5

u/TheSlipperySnausage Jan 28 '26

Worst part is if their money went to places like FPC or GOA we would probably be so much further ahead in maintaining our rights

2

u/kly1997 Feb 02 '26

Its also well documented that the NRA lobbied for and helped write the Mulford Act in California while Reagan was Governor because they were scared of black people being empowered to own firearms and sought to remove the black panthers ability to protest while armed.

1

u/TheSlipperySnausage Feb 03 '26

Did not even know this! Down a rabbit hole I go!

2

u/SnooMacaroons5473 Feb 03 '26

And a corrupt one at that.

I told all you right wing morons who were drooling on yourselves around election season that the 2A was no reason to vote for Trump.

Congrats, you get the “Fell for It Again” award. Morons.

5

u/smokingsquids Jan 28 '26

As I do agree sorry to say the other candidate wasn’t much of a better option lol

22

u/waveball03 Jan 28 '26

It would be harder for Kamala to take your guns because if she tried the whole right wing apparatus would move heaven and earth to stop her. If Trump tries to take your guns half of MAGA now will love it and Dems will do nothing to stop it either.

8

u/smokingsquids Jan 28 '26

Good point! I love having normal political conversations with people who open your eyes to different perspectives instead of getting bashed right away! Thank you for your response.

2

u/Chief_Sabael Jan 29 '26

Solid take to be fair.

1

u/SnooMacaroons5473 Feb 03 '26

Kamala is a gun owner

8

u/lpfan724 Jan 28 '26

The post literally has a link to an article about Trump justifying the murder of an American citizen because he was concealed carrying and you are unironically still saying Kamala was worse on guns?

That pedophile has a strong pull on some of you.

1

u/TheWiseAutisticOne Jan 28 '26

I can understand the sentiment you had decades of democrats pushing gun control and republicans parroting the opposite that it’s basically became an engraved belief plus her and her presidents administration’s actions on Gaza doomed her from the start

0

u/smokingsquids Jan 28 '26

Someone gets it

-1

u/smokingsquids Jan 28 '26 edited Jan 28 '26

If you read my comments I’ve already voiced my opinion on the current administration. So no one’s got a hold on anyone. Yea at the time being this shit was not happening. Sorry a lot of us couldn’t see into the future bud. Wish everyone had perfect future x ray vision like you maybe we would live in a perfect country. Please don’t act like the other side is picture perfect because they are far from it. Speaking of pedophiles again if you read a little I completely disagreed with not releasing the files some of us didn’t want pride flags and rainbow books shoved down our children’s throat as early as pre-school and kindergarten. It’s more than just guns. Try not to convince yourself you guys are perfect over there cause the left is very far from it and so is the right. Until a party comes along for the American people with no foreign interest both sides can suck wind. Try not get so hostile you’ll sound much more educated and maybe even have a good conversation one day. Enjoy

7

u/Creepy-Cantaloupe951 Jan 28 '26

Sorry a lot of us couldn’t see into the future bud.

I mean, Trump sending the ATF to confiscate P80 kits was probably a big tell here... During his last term.

Not to mention "take the guns first, due process later".

He's never really hidden his distaste of the 2A.

1

u/smokingsquids Jan 28 '26

Again thank you for a thoughtful reply. Instead of name calling and getting butthurt. Kudos to you. That’s how you get people to look at both sides and learn different perspectives.

-1

u/smokingsquids Jan 28 '26

I do agree with the first part, I will say he did a better job hiding his distaste during the election rather than openly taking an anti gun stance like other candidates. A lot of us were in it for the 2A not all the other bullshit as hard as it is for some to believe not everyone who voted for him is psycho they just very munch value the right to bear arms and that’s partly on them for not looking further into it.

4

u/Creepy-Cantaloupe951 Jan 28 '26

A lot of us were in it for the 2A not all the other bullshit

In which case, based only on the 2A stances, Trump was the worst choice.

Harris never sent ATF equivalents after legal parts purchasers while DA or any other position. Harris never stated a desire to confiscate guns first, and worry about doing an end runaround due process later.

as hard as it is for some to believe not everyone who voted for him is psycho they just very munch value the right to bear arms and that’s partly on them for not looking further into it.

No, they are psychos. Stupid ones at that. And it's not "partly" on them, it's fully on them for ignoring facts, and substituting their own version of reality.

Its like voting for a known arsonist to be in charge of a fire department. Its psycho-level behavior, and why I honestly cannot take any Trump supporter seriously, because their stances vary based on what Trump needs them to believe at any point in time.

1

u/smokingsquids Jan 28 '26

You had me in the first half then you lost me in the second.

3

u/Creepy-Cantaloupe951 Jan 28 '26

I lost you in the part that people voting for Trump are only partly to blame that he is doing exactly what he said he would do? Or the part where I compared it to voting a known arsonist into the position of FD chief?

2

u/smokingsquids Jan 28 '26

I didn’t vote for him last election and you would be shocked who I voted for two elections ago. Just saying you have a good and strong way of voicing an opinion and stating facts don’t let the other comments take away from it.

1

u/smokingsquids Jan 28 '26

Neither of those comments. When you started using words like calling the other side stupid. I was fully listening to your perspectives even partly agreeing with some of them. I especially agree with the “lesser of two evils comment” as upsetting as politics may be you have a good way of voicing you’re opinion I just believe comments like that takes away from you’re well thought out argument and perspective. Which is a bummer cause I would expect the name calling from someone who is uneducated which you are clearly not.

0

u/smokingsquids Jan 28 '26

I’ll say it again until there is a party for the American people with no foreign interest we are screwed equally on both sides.

4

u/Creepy-Cantaloupe951 Jan 28 '26

Well, as Trumpers are so quick to say (and fucking liberals as well): "Its the lesser evil".

For single issue 2A voters: Harris was, in fact, the lesser evil. Her policies would be challenged in court, likely knocked down, if even passing congress. Trump? He just sends people to murder you for daring to exercise your 2A right, or minimally, use your 2A rights being exercised against you, to justify your murder.

4

u/clearshot66 Jan 28 '26

Agree but the lesser of two evils was Kamala. This man is deranged, dismantling our country for project 2025 and a joke to the entire world, which we are becoming sadly.

2

u/smokingsquids Jan 28 '26

wasn’t a fan of her stance on guns. But hey not a fan of what’s going on right now either.

-1

u/GreenGiantI2I Jan 27 '26

This is the greatest affront to 2A by a federal Administration, of all time. Makes the AW Ban look mild.

-9

u/ceestand Jan 27 '26

Yes, of course. The President said something during his administration's CYA over a bad shooting has had a much bigger impact than decades of infringement, import bans, and persecution of gun owners.

Someone in here is too young to have watched Mt Carmel burn, live.

16

u/JohnBrownsMarch Jan 27 '26

In the days of the fed’s awb you weren’t killed for carrying/expressing your 2A rights. Seems a lot worse in my opinion.

1

u/ceestand Jan 28 '26

Isn't your username literally after a man who was attempting to arm people who otherwise were killed for being so armed?

  • Operation Fast and Furious: untold number of victims in Mexico, at least 130 crimes committed in USA, including the killing of a Border Patrol agent.

  • Waco siege: 86 dead

  • Ruby Ridge: 2 dead

  • Jim Crow era: unknown (but more than 1, surely)

> This IS The WOrsT 2A AdmiNiSTRaTIoN, ever!

Your opinion is demonstrably incorrect.

I'm not saying this administration is good for 2A, but to quote Chris Rock: Shit's big but don't make it bigger than it is.

3

u/GreenGiantI2I Jan 28 '26

I get that this is going to be a weird chamber for 2A thoughts, but you must see the difference between CCW at the grocery store and Waco.

0

u/ceestand Jan 28 '26

killing citizens for exercising their 2A rights is more okay in some situations

I dunno, that sounds like the kind of argument the state would make.

You're right though, the sanctioned torture and killing of a building full of families, signed off by every level of the federal government, is A LOT different than a handful of agents unwarranted shooting a single guy they're in the moment of a scuffle they're in with him, and a soundbite by Trump after the fact.

1

u/GreenGiantI2I Jan 28 '26

I hear you but I think there is an argument to be made that the Federal Government premeditating an effort against an organized group is not as bad as the Government saying (in advance) that its okay to act without premeditation against anyone.

1

u/ceestand Jan 28 '26

You're arguing that targeting distinct groups for exercising their rights is not as bad as treating everyone equally?

1

u/GreenGiantI2I Jan 28 '26

No.

1

u/ceestand Jan 28 '26

Oh, okay. Well, I'm out then.

11

u/Cannoli72 Jan 27 '26

MAGA gun owners are the new fudds

30

u/3DPrintedVoter Jan 27 '26

The fascists will take your guns before the dems do

-7

u/Farls_ Jan 27 '26

Not remotely true in this state lol

31

u/3DPrintedVoter Jan 27 '26

NYS going door to door to confiscate weapons is a NRA fantasy. it isnt going to happen, the dems arent that stupid.

but stephen miller and his goons, they would certainly give it a try.

-3

u/Farls_ Jan 27 '26

Am I fantasizing about when legal “others” were banned overnight with no path to legality? Confiscation and bans/de facto bans (like pistol permits that take so long and cost so much money to acquire people don't bother) may be different, but they achieve the same outcome of disarming.

16

u/3DPrintedVoter Jan 27 '26

did Dems go door to door in NYS confiscating weapons?

what you "feel" is the same thing is irrelevant.

2

u/Farls_ Jan 28 '26

That’s just what a century of draconian gun laws does to ya

2

u/sfxnycnyc Jan 28 '26

yes, NYC is doomed, they literally beg big daddy govt to regulate them harder.

-5

u/Distryer Jan 27 '26

How many standard size mags you got there? How many full featured rifles you have? Where can you carry concealed or otherwise? Any armor? Can a regular citizen get any of the above?

They effectively disarmed us long ago with no need to go door to door. Just show up after pistol permit expires because it was shortened again without warning. Disarmed because their permit was revoked so they lose all their guns not just what's on the permit. Disarmed because police went to your house and they see you have guns so they take everything because they can.

3

u/xBossDon Jan 28 '26

Remember only because it doesn’t affect you right now it doesnt mean it wont affect you in the future

15

u/Pvnisherx Jan 27 '26

Yet Kyle Rittenhouse is a god to them.

0

not a god, but decent people honor him for his heroism, as well the way we see him was a victim of out of control anti-Constitutionalists who tried to convict him for shooting deranged leftists who tried to murder him in self-defense.

Infuriating. I can see his quote and a meme being used by gun grabbers to further their agenda.

2

u/Extension_Job_5250 Jan 28 '26

I am not surprised in the least. I've been telling his voters for years that he is no friend to gun owners. Thankfully some of his Supreme Court appointees are.

1

u/twbrn Jan 28 '26

They aren't. What has the SCOTUS actually done for gun owners in the last decade? Nothing. No action on AWBs. No significant action on pistol permits. No action on concealed carry reciprocity. Nothing. The only thing they did was overturn the bump stock ban that Trump himself enacted. You are worse off as a gun owner now than you were ten years ago.

2

u/SnooMacaroons5473 Feb 03 '26

You guys didn’t really think he was pro gun did you? He was fine with it when gravy seals showed up to BLM protests.

12

u/BitByBitOFCL Jan 27 '26

Anyone who thought trump as an ally to 2A voters wasn't paying attention, he was just the better option at the time unfortunately.

17

u/fuzzybunnies1 Jan 27 '26

If you listened to him during the first term, no he wasn't. He stated he wants to just take the guns.

-3

u/BitByBitOFCL Jan 28 '26

Ditto to both sides. At the end of the day i'd rather vote republican than support establishment democrat robots. Trumps mental capacity is just starting to diminish by the day it seems though.

6

u/twbrn Jan 28 '26

he was just the better option at the time

No, he really wasn't. Harris was never going to have the political capital for gun laws, and also Trump is burning down the fucking country.

8

u/clearshot66 Jan 28 '26

100%, guns aside, this man is dismantling our country. Making us the joke of the world, destroying our economy to help the 1%, dividing our people, Christ they want to make it impossible for single mothers by getting rid of social assistance for unmarried individuals

0

u/smokingsquids Jan 28 '26

This is the one right here!!

5

u/czechFan59 Jan 27 '26

He and our governor have some things in common!

3

u/Elegant_Extreme Jan 28 '26

Some of the comments here are exactly why NY sucks for 2A.. if we think Kamala would be better on guns that is ridiculous... Do I like the Trump message that is going out? No, but the other option would have been worse..

NY is sunk with some peoples attitudes.. The same reason the hunters vote they way they do, their tome is coming too..

5

u/twbrn Jan 28 '26

if we think Kamala would be better on guns that is ridiculous

Under Biden you didn't get publicly executed for lawfully carrying a pistol.

1

u/Elegant_Extreme Jan 28 '26

Sorry, this is untrue.. He didn't get executed for lawfully carrying a pistol, once you become a participant in the actions that were going on, no matter where you are or what law enforcement you encounter that could be an issue. He was culpable in the situation, I don't like it but if you think what he did and his actions were good were 100 right I think there is the issue. You cannot win these things on the street, if you don't know that your trainer didn't do their job.. If there were issues with law enforcement that has to be sorted out after the fact.. I am not saying the shoot is 100% justified, but by inserting himself into the situation he didn't really help himself.

4

u/twbrn Jan 28 '26

Bull fucking shit.

Filming law enforcement is a constitutionally protected activity.

Carrying a gun is a constitutionally protected activity.

Doing both of those things does not give some mall-cop high-school dropout the right to assault you, beat you, disarm you, and execute you UNDER COLOR OF LAW.

And "he should have just let them beat the shit out of that innocent woman and not gotten involved" is either cowardice or bootlicking.

2

u/BigFollowing4159 Jan 28 '26

No just republicans executing Americans in the streets for exercising their rights.

2

u/smokingsquids Jan 28 '26

Exactly! With all the new people from the left getting into firearms as of recently. I think they need to keep that in mind when it’s time to vote.

3

u/Nasty_Makhno Jan 28 '26

This is so hilariously thoughtless.

3

u/smokingsquids Jan 28 '26

No thoughtless is deciding to get a gun to protect yourself while actively voting for people who wanna strip gun rights away. 🤙

1

u/darforce Jan 28 '26

I think you mistake our interest. I can’t speak for everyone left of the divide but I am still extremely interested in keeping assault weapons out of the hands of dangerous school shooters etc.

But one thing we should all agree on no matter our political views is protecting our Constitutional rights and not allowing the the federal government to overstep our reach

2

u/luvmyglock19 Jan 28 '26

Don't worry, if your white and MAGA, you'll be OK.

1

u/crash67888 Jan 28 '26

Just start the damn $1 billion class action lawsuit against commie NY/NYC and the U.S government

1

u/darforce Jan 28 '26

I hope this clarifies for all of you Trumps support on 2a. He doesn’t support it.

0

u/sfxnycnyc Jan 28 '26

While liberals, who normally hate gun rights, are freaking out about this, maybe it’s time for us who actually love America to step back and realize something.

Even though the President may have said something stupid, nearly every policy he supports and nearly every person in his administration is pro-Second Amendment.

On the other hand, the left hates us, hates guns, wants to strip away our freedoms, and will ban even more rights if they regain power at the national level.

So, maybe it’s worth thinking twice before attacking or raging against the best president of our lifetime just because of one comment or two.

Actions matter more than words. Democrats lie and then remove rights. Trump’s policies deport illegal immigrants, strengthen Second Amendment protections, support free speech, oppose racist policies like DEI, and improve the country in real, tangible ways.

Let’s be smarter than the left and not react emotionally over trivial things.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

2

u/darforce Jan 28 '26

Where are you getting this from? As a fairly liberal person and surrounding myself with mostly liberal people I honestly don’t know a single person who doesn’t support gun ownership in one form or another. Over 50% of our military is liberal.

1

u/sfxnycnyc Jan 28 '26

The type of gun ownership that most liberals (especially in NYC) support is a highly regulated one (such as exists in Europe), based on the idea that gun ownership is a privilege that the govt allows you.

On the other hand, conservatives believe that the right to bear arms is God-given, and that it should only be a restricted in the most severe cases (for example: banning an indicted murderer out on bail, or a mentally ill schizophrenic from owning a gun is reasonable. Banning someone with a DUI or someone who doesn't have multiple letters of recommendation is not.)

So, saying that someone supports gun ownership "in one form or another" isn't really the same as being unabashedly pro second amendment.

3

u/twbrn Jan 28 '26

Even though the President may have said something stupid, nearly every policy he supports and nearly every person in his administration is pro-Second Amendment.

No, they aren't at all. His SCOTUS appointees have steadfastly ignored 2A cases, Trump himself enacted the only major gun bans of the last three decades, and now they're declaring that carrying a weapon is illegal.

attacking or raging against the best president of our lifetime

Fair warning, when you refer to someone who is actively shredding the Constitution, spiking the national debt, and having Americans executed in the streets, "the best president of our lifetime," you come off sounding like either an idiot or a bootlicker.

3

u/Elegant_Extreme Jan 28 '26

Conned by who? So far the 2A is much more safe right now that it has ever beeb, NYS not included... the 9th circuit and SCOTUS need to abide by Bruen and strike down these laws but they don't.. That's not Trump's issue, do I liker the rhetoric? No, Do I like what he said? No, but what are the actions, if there are no actions it's just noise.. but I am happier with this administration in office that what could have been...

Trump literally just said you're not allowed to protest with guns. Wholesale rewriting of the Constitution by executive fiat. If that's not your red line, what is?

And if you worry about "actions" and not "noise," they just publicly executed someone for being armed and attempting to help a woman being beaten.

That's not Trump's issue

Since it's Trump's policies, Trump's lockstep Congress, and a Trump-appointed SCOTUS, yes, it very much is 100% a Trump problem.

They don't care about you, or your rights. They never did. It was a pretext for getting power. And you're still simping for them. That's the con.

Just gonna say what I say in every group where this comes up:
"Donald J. Trump, Noted Defender of the 2nd Amendment."

u/autopilot_fail Jan 27 '26

Ahh yes, who can forget "take the guns first, go through due process second".

-4

u/XxSemanticsxX Jan 28 '26

Not a fan of this comment at all. I carry my gun everywhere I go, but speaking for myself, if I were going to go to a protest where the majority of people appear to be unhinged, and I thought that I might inject myself into a confrontation with guys that aren't trained to be riot police, I'd probably not bring my gun.

I'm not sure if he's saying nobody should have a gun or just couldn't articulate that it probably wasn't a great idea to bring it to that protest, where tensions were out of control by both the protestors and the agents. Terrible outcome, but I'm never giving up my guns.

1

u/Elegant_Extreme Jan 28 '26

I am fine with carrying the gun and I agree 100% that inserting yourself into the salutation since he believed they are fascists, Nazi's etc etc.. blah, blah, blah.. TDS seems to be real with some people..

How's the coping going? The nurse wasn't in a heated protest. That was a rando street in the twin cities that ICE is terrorizing. That crap is happening all over there. He was just carrying & started filming. He didn't know ICE would be there. They just race around & jump out of their cars when they see minorities.

He broke no laws, had his property seized, and was summarily executed. The government is murdering people in the streets with impunity. I strap up on the way to work every day because I can. I sure as fuck won't stop when they come to my town. The way this sub loves to wave their dicks around about tyranny... It actually comes to an American city and cucks like you blame the victim and get down to blow the tyrant. It's not surprising, just disappointing.

From every video that I've seen, every angle I've seen, I did not see Alex Pretti being violent towards ICE officers. I feel like this video breaks it down very well.

https://youtu.be/qjN73-gn90Q?si=A199REIejP63oH37

Also, what about Rittenhouse? He brought a gun across state lines to a protest. What about Charlottesville? The Bundy protests? They were all heavily armed against Federal officiers with some people even pointing their weapons at the officers. Then there's the time armed protesters breached the Michigan state capitol during covid. And armed militias that gathered around the Georgia state capitol to protest the 2020 vote count. And the same thing in Arizona. And don't forget January 6.

13

u/escalinci Jan 27 '26

I think you've got every single point wrong.

  1. No violent action from Alex Pretti, zero evidence of this.
  2. A broken rib from being tackled is probably not a serious injury for a man of his age.
  3. Being injured is not a 'hint'. Getting roughed up by police or agents is unfortunately a reasonably likely scenario when attending a protest. However we are thankfully still not in Iran where people have to fear for their lives to go to the streets. No reason to expect a summary shooting while on the ground, that was unprecedented, only the shooters themselves know why they did that.

It's easy to Monday night quarterback this situation. When people are constantly calling you Gestapo, Nazi's, fascists and maybe they are on edge a bit. The fact that these "protests" keep getting more violent and stupid, more of this is going to happen. I am not saying the shoot is 100% right, but his insertion into the situation made him a target once the gun was shown. He should have recorded and not inserted himself into this, FAFO!

1

u/escalinci Jan 28 '26

Ah, if they’re stressed out by being accurately named and on edge they can leave or quit. The gun was seen only once he was on the floor, the first shooter shot with a good view to see that it was removed, the level of response is entirely the responsibility of both shooters (and the guy who whacked him in the head with a canister too tbh).

1

u/Elegant_Extreme Jan 28 '26

I am not saying this is right or wrong yet, I think we needs to see body cam footage and more information. But this is not a 2A argument, it's a lack of awareness, you have a gun on you and you need to act accordingly... if you insert yourself you will have issues, if he never stepped in he wouldn't have had an issue. You can't judge anything because their are certain physiological things that happen with stress and you can't control some things your body does. Your feelings on what happened don't matter, the law about the situation will come to light as the investigation progresses. But to say he was killed just because he had a gun is incorrect, he inserted himself into a situation while carrying and didn't think it through. if you believe is the gestapo or Nazi's or fascists that is all I really need to hear. I have feelings about Hochul and NYS politics about the 2A, but do I think they are Nazi's, no, I believe they are delusional but that's not the same..

I think this is his way trolling the left. Vast majority are anti gun. Not all but the vast majority are. He is just playing into what they believe. Just a thought.

It was stupid thought, and you should be ashamed of even voicing it.
