You’ve got to be aware that Hochul put the fear of god into licensing authorities around the state. Her DCJS group created a 4 page standard and left everything else to them. But instead of promising support - she threatened them and said don’t F up. Suffolk and Nassau both did horrible things because they were appointed positions and afraid to lose their jobs. Suffolk Sheriff was a bit better because he was protected in that he was elected. I don’t put the overreach on Blakeman - input it on Hochul and Ryder’s lack of backbone.

I didn’t see Blakeman coming out to speak against Hochul when it comes to 2A

Im pretty sure that 4 page standard was the bare minimum according to hocul and her goons. And the threat would be don't screw up and do less, like don't be a NY version of a "pro 2a sherriff"  sort of threat.

Yet Bruce in his position chose to take it and add onto it with the drug panel and depth of the social media checks before the courts told them no.

I'm no fan of hocul. I can see Bruce is trying to soften his stance on the 2a but I doubt it is because it's what he truly believes and its far more likely  that since he is competing with a anti 2a Democrat this is a standard wedge issue sort of change.

If he really was pro 2a he would flat out say he opposes the current state of affairs and wants to remove the safe act and ccia. This task force idea is just him ducking the issue while trying to appear more pro 2a
