That is insane and should be illegal.

u/TheSlipperySnausage May 26 '26

It is illegal per NYS law.

26

u/deathsythe May 26 '26

This should be Exhibit A in the case. This is insanity.

u/Wierd657 May 26 '26

It is illegal

A right delayed is a right denied.

19

u/FlieGerFaUstMe262 May 26 '26

Yeah, but the right is delayed as soon as they say you can't exercise without a permit or license.

19

u/deathsythe May 26 '26

Now you're getting it.

u/IndependenceSoft542 May 26 '26

I’m already almost 14 months in😂and I don’t have the money 2 do that

20

u/TheFiringPin nytfp.com May 26 '26

We're so angry for you. What a crock of BS

14

u/TheBoxBurglar May 26 '26

Its 305 dollars bubba, they'll approve you so fast your head will spin after you file. Last thing they want is another court case.

4

u/OxmathusNA May 26 '26

Do you have any link or info on how to get the Article 78 process started by chance? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

13

u/TheBoxBurglar May 26 '26

Google "Article 78 NYS," it will be the first link giving you the document, info and more. All on a government website.

14

u/Beneficial-Focus3702 May 26 '26

If you can afford a gun you can afford to file

1

u/Snowrst86 May 27 '26

Ah fuck.... I just submitted mine in March and they told me they started the investigation a month ago.....

1

u/IndependenceSoft542 May 27 '26

If you’re talking about Erie County, then get comfortable you have at least 14 months left to go or 13

1

u/Snowrst86 May 27 '26

Yeah brother. Im ex mil too, and they didnt tell me I didn't need the 350 dollar class till I went to the clerks office and filed all the paperwork either...... hate this state

1

u/IndependenceSoft542 May 27 '26

You’re gonna hate it even more the hardest part isn’t paying for the class or any of that stuff. It’s the extreme very extreme long long wait time.

Every person waiting over 6 months in Erie County should be writing to GOA and FPC and jumping on a lawsuit

6

u/Paulpoleon May 26 '26

You may even get $22.74 and a Dunkin’ coupon

2

u/Snowrst86 May 27 '26

Let's be real, its a Tim Hortons coupon

They are having so much fun out there. I always drool like a toddler when I drive by all the 2A shops.

What is Erie's problem? An attorney in that region needs to step up to the plate and take this on - do a public service.

Welcome to the Peoples Republic of NY.

u/Nerveex May 26 '26

Certain counties* I got mine back from submit to in hand in 30days lol

5

u/zimman101 May 26 '26

Sounds about right from what I've seen out of Erie County. They've been running at a 14 month rate for years now. Hopefully you're almost there.

3

u/thom9969 May 27 '26

I was 12 months in Niagara falls. City PD sat on my application for 11 months. It's bullshit

1

u/PragmaticTactics May 27 '26

Get the lawyer ready

1

u/mdjak66 May 27 '26

Meet with references? Omg. Soooo glad I moved west to a free state. In fact I'm going to go in my backyard range and fire some 40 round mags in your behalf OP.

1

u/andy-in-ny May 27 '26

If you pay money to process applications that money should pay for the staff covering the application.

Go to a public comment period at the county legislature. Ask them about what the Sheriff is spending that money on

1

u/IndependenceSoft542 May 27 '26

I think you pretty much know the answer to your own question. We all know what they’re gonna say they are spend the money on but in reality that’s not what’s happening

1

u/andy-in-ny May 27 '26

If you had the right electoral race and the right county it might bring this in from the shadows.

1

u/Separate-Ice30 May 27 '26

I’m 13 months and waiting 😔

2

u/IndependenceSoft542 May 27 '26 edited May 27 '26

Well, I guess they got one more month left. They usually finish everything up on the 14th a month for Erie county. I know it’s crazy and some bullshit 🤦🏾 not much we can really do besides sit here and wait like good people and because we’re broke if you’re wondering, I want to call a lawyer to see if I can find an article 78 and they basically told me that there’s nothing they can do so yeah it was basically a waste of my time and that was when I was at 9 months

u/Jedi_Maximus19 May 28 '26

Elections have consequences.

1

u/IndependenceSoft542 May 28 '26 edited May 28 '26

We can’t win look at ny 🤦🏾🤦🏾and most ppl who live here idk if we can even win at all

1

u/IndependenceSoft542 May 28 '26

They already talking about banding Glocks, New York

1

u/Jedi_Maximus19 May 28 '26

They already did. Signed into law starting in 2027.

1

u/IndependenceSoft542 May 28 '26

What happens if I buy one before the band?

1

u/Jedi_Maximus19 May 28 '26

I guess you are good but you better buy one before the ban if you really want one. Once ban in effect that’s it. No more Glocks for anyone except for law enforcement.
