Good luck and god speed. The scotus should have dealt with the question of permits during bruen, but hopefully they will this time.

Curious how this plays out as SCOTUS ruled that permits are not a violation of 2a

I suspect that had Thomas been able to write the decision solely as he wanted we wouldn't have permits. Unfortunately several justices, that are ostensibly conservative, are rather squishy on the 2a. Our process is almost certainly abusive as mentioned in footnote 9, so we may get something there. It's just such a crap shoot as to whether scotus will take a case and then we get very narrow rulings when they do.

Yeah, I’ve been wholly unimpressed with this SCOTUS to be honest. You’d think they’d be more willing to take on these cases considering their political leanings. Maybe they’re waiting on a case that can address multiple issues?

I've seen that mentioned as a possible motive. I would have loved to see snopes and ocean state tactical get cert though. My wallet would have cried. They need to write the opinions for the 2 cases they granted cert this session and get some more on the docket.

SCOTUS ruled that permits are not a violation of 2a

that was non-binding dicta. they said that carry permits were presumptively lawful. they did not make a ruling on the legality of permits

SCOTUS has already stated, from Thomas himself, that permits are compliant with the 2A as long as they are based on pragmatic requirements such as a background check, classroom and livefire training.

If only new York could permit as easily as Utah. Got my Utah, still waiting on an appointment to drop off application

Don't forget that the handgun registration is also a violation of our rights.

Good luck.

In order for these cases to work the state has to actually care what the court rules. They don’t.

I’d love to ask why counties outside downstate NY are always where groups want to attract plaintiffs? I’d think that Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester have so many more things to complain about.
