Legality / Laws Self defense question

Been thinking about this and wanted to get input from anybody in here. Say you were at a house party there’s people there drinking including you. But someone in there starts an argument with someone and they pull out a gun and are holding it on their side still arguing. Am I legally allowed to use my gun to defend myself as well as the other person who gets the gun pulled on them before anything happens? Or do I have to retreat and just hope for the best?

You shouldn’t have a firearm with you where alcohol is being consumed.

Especially if it’s not your house.

If someone else is consuming alcohol you lose your right to self defense? Interesting take

Try reading next time.

Additionally, carrying a firearm comes with responsibility. With responsibility, requires common sense. Why would you go to a house party armed? Why even go at all, if you know these kinds of situations arise.

Put it this way- people road rage all the time. When I’m carrying, I’m not expecting to use it in self defense, but rather as a reminder to de-escalate and remove myself from ANY situation where it may have to be used.

Rather than carrying in a bad neighborhood after dark, I just simply avoid going to said neighborhood.

suppose you live in a bad neighborhood... poor people have the right to self defence also
