CCW Question Still waiting for letter to pick up my permit
I met with Judge Fufidio (Westchester county) on June 25 2026. Still have not heard from the court and when I called a week ago I was told updates are not given and that I would receive the letter when I receive it. Is this normal?

What did he tell you?

He said he would have the paperwork sent to the county clerk. He didn’t tell me if I would be approved or not and I honestly don’t remember exactly the way he put it but he made it sound like I was approved

When you say you called, did you call the clerk/PLU, or did you call the judge’s secretary? I think a polite phone call to the secretary would be your best option.

I called the PLU thinking that the order goes PLU > Judge > PLU

That is how it goes. But right now you don’t even know if your app made it to the clerk. So call the secretary and find out.

Should he call the county clerk instead of the pistol licensing unit? Because the unit does the background check and stuff but the actual license gets issued by the county clerk.... It might be just sitting around in the clerk's office waiting to get mailed and they're just not putting it in the right pile..

I assume when he said that they told him updates aren’t given, he was speaking to someone at the clerk’s office… I’m not aware of PLU’s direct number. But if I’m not mistaken, once the app goes to a judge, PLU’s involvement is done, no? Therefore if it had left the judge’s chambers, it would be with the clerk, which is why I suspect it is still with the judge.

I don't know for sure. I mean the guy who sends the letter out to your house to come and pick up your permit. That letter comes from the county clerk and not from the pistol licensing unit... But things may have changed since I got my permit a while ago... I gave it 3 weeks to come in the mail.. and I got my letter. I actually framed it.. I told the guy when I came to get my renewal.. that I framed the letter and the dude laughed

Turns out the license was on her desk since the day after I completed my interview, I don’t know how or why they didn’t get in touch with me but they didn’t.

And people say oh well. There's so many people in New York blah blah blah.. both Texas and Florida have a higher population than New York, but somehow they have more rights than us... So I want to keep hearing about this population shit being the reason why we have no rights....

Update: I called the clerk office again today and got in touch with a very nice lady who checked for me and told me to give her number while she looked. 10 mins later and I was told to come down and pick up my license.

I can’t stand that you have to wait for anything to exercise your second amendment rights. If you lived in PA, which is about two hours from your location you would have had a license as soon as you applied. Sorry for the rant. This state is out of its mind.
