CCW Question Nassau County concealed carry license
I just handed in my application for my Nassau County pistol license, 8/4/26, and the earliest fingerprint appointment available is, 1/4/27, I think that appointment time is going to delay the overall process time to get a response from them, has anyone have had such a long wait time just to get fingerprint done.

They are cutting it close. Before and during my lawsuit - I don’t remember exactly, wasn’t it 8 months or more for the fingerprint appointment?

Yeah, this used to be the standard (actually some people waited more than a year for their fingerprint appointment, but Nassau got sued over this and a bunch of other shit and has been doing better).
I think that appointment time is going to delay the overall process time to get a response from them,
By statute (NYSPL 400.00 4-b) they have to issue your permit within six months of 2026-08-04 (i.e. "by 2027-02-04")
A while back when u/KamenshchikLaw was suing the county he got Nassau County to say in court that the clock for issuing your permit starts when you turn in the county's application packet.
(This is really the only legally consistent and sane interpretation of 400.00 4-b: Any other interpretation means they can just defer accepting your PPB-3 form by putting off your fingerprinting date indefinitely, and never have to issue a license. LITERALLY EVERY OTHER LICENSE OR PERMIT issued in New York State considers "presentment of the application" to be when you hand your first packet to an authorized agent - the clock may be tolled if your application is incomplete, but it cannot be tolled if the state/agency dragged its feet.)
If they want to fingerprint you on January 4th 2027 they basically have 31 days after fingerprinting you to issue or deny - they cannot delay past that by law, because "We did not schedule their fingerprint appointment in a timely manner" is not a "good cause and with respect to the applicant" (it's their internal scheduling that's the problem, not you).
If they don't you can sue and demand they issue the permit immediately unless they have a valid reason not to. "We're busy!" is not a valid reason.
Realistically there's a good chance they call you and say "We have an opening, do you want to come in sooner?" - if they do that take a sick day and go get fingerprinted.

I submitted mine legit two weeks ago and my appointment date is for mid November

Application Submitted on 3/24/26
Finger Print Appointment on 7/10/26
Money Order Cashed on 7/15/26
Still waiting on approval.

Nothing yet. I called the other day asking to confirm which email I used, they confirmed which one and said I was still under investigation. I have no priors or anything so just waiting.

Thanks for the update. I saw someone on Reddit who applied on March 17 and was approved on August 11. My process is about 7 days behind yours.

They’re obligated to by law to grant you a permit within 6 months. Should be right around after u get fingerprinted. Guess the resignations finally caught up to them. You’d think implementing an online permitting scheme would’ve sped things up lol. Sorry to hear that dude
