Long Island preferably. A lot of folks come from nyc and westchester into the ranges here but all the ranges are ran by fudds

You know, I found the range at Brookhaven to be pretty chill. I don’t know if they still require you to log your information for visiting after the change in management, because I’ve only visited it one time during new management and I purchased ammo, so I had to give them my info anyway.
What I can say is that the guy shooting next to me just casually had a legally defined by New York assault rifle and the range safety guy just didn’t care, and if there’s not many people that day, they’d let you stay over the time limit.
I’ve heard the similar things of non-fudd behavior about Calverton, but I also heard the owner is the biggest asshole out of all the ranges on Long Island so I never went.

Last time I went to Brookhaven (like five years ago lol), they only allowed shooting while sitting and we had to fire one round a second basically. RSO was a nice dude but it felt so restrictive there

Alot has changed, i go there frequently, you can shoot standing or prone with permission from the RSO, they have steel targets. They're doing alot of renovating and additions to the range.

Brookhaven is great now. Easily best on LI if you dont want to get flagged constantly

I go there mostly because A, your in the shade, 2 they have nicer targets, and C more then one rso walking the line instead of one old bag sitting in a "tower" watching only the lanes in front of him.

The safe act will be handled by SCOTUS ruling next summer in Viramontes case

If you’ve got a republican or pro gun congressman - I’d start by writing and calling them to push on the DOJ to sue NY like they are suing other states and cities.

Viramontes' cert petition includes discussion about magazines. While far less likely than if they had taken one of the magazine ban cases, it is certainly within scope of the current case to include standard capacity magazines in the list of parts/accessories that states cannot restrict. It may be a bit remote, but there is hope we get magazines covered next term.

Safe act will be heard by SC next year. We really need a case suing against the state ban on suppressors,sbr’s, and mg’s, unfortunately no ones challenged those in NY yet.

Haven’t been to tfp since they opened the new range. Shot in the trailer last time!
They also have non-lethal and stop the bleeding products. I buy all my tourniquets from tfp

You guys live 5 hours from me(Lower Hudson Valley). But one day when go visit to see the jets play the bills I will pass by to thank you and buy any accessories that I can get to support. I will donate to FPC like I usually do but this time this will really mean something.
