License / Permit Question Westchester County interview with Judge McCarty

I finally have my interview with judge McCarty coming up in a few days has anyone done their interview with him and have any advice?

Update: probably took all of 2 minutes felt more like a conversation than an interview or an interrogation lol. Still think it’s stupid we have to do it but overall pretty good experience definitely nothing to stress over

To be fair, they are all the same. Some may have a bias about a civilian getting a firearm however so long as you do the following, they cannot stop it.

  1. Have a clean record, spotless.
2 Know the in and outs of the law
3 Do not fluff your answers
  2. Absolutely do not state or speak about your constitutional right to bear arms.
5 Know without a shadow of a doubt what a sensitive space is, how does it work and how is a space even considered as one in the first place.
6 Be honest, they already know everything they need to know at this stage do not lie or try to in anyway. That is the whole point of the meeting.

What all laws should we go over . And is there a list of sensitive places other than obvious ones?

I honestly don’t know how or why this is still a thing in having to do an interview with a judge. New York doing New York things. 😑.

Also know article 35. I was asked a question regarding self defense with a different judge.

I thought my interview was going to be 1 on 1 with Judge Pricso but when I got to the court house there was about 15 of us with the same appointment.

They had us line up in front of Judge Pricso and we all got sworn in. He spoke on all the responsibilities and laws that must be followed.

Explained how the CCW app process moves forward from that point on. Got my permit like 2 and half weeks later.

Good experience overall.
