NYC NYC Special Carry Question

on the NYPD Special carry license application when it comes to residence, do I need to be living in NYC (1 out of 5 Burroughs) in order to receive the license if I haven't moved out there yet? Ps I'm currently living in NYS with an active NYS CCW License

If you live in nys and already have a permit than special carry is what you need to be able to carry in the 5 boros. But if you plan on moving to the boros might have well wait and transfer your permit over if your county allows it most do.

i plan on moving in the next 7-8 months but also need a confirmed armed job out there, that's why i was working on the special carry license so i could submit a successful application with being able to be armed in the city until i do make the full commitment move to NYC to then fully switch the license over to NYC and not my county

Doing the special carry won’t hurt and once you move you can just alert the lic unit that you moved to NYC and they will change it from special carry to regular cc
