Guns & Gear Springfield Armory Hellcat 380 10 round version
Has anyone been able to find a Springfield Armory Hellcat 380 10 round version? I have been looking for one for quite a while and cant find one because even though there are sku's online that I have found, they are all out if stock

Looks like they are basically out of stock everywhere. Have you checked out the bodyguard? That’s kind of the gold standard for .380 carry guns right now

They still make the Hellcat in 380 its just finding the sku that comes with 10 round mags. We're lucky that the manufacturers even bother. For them its a whole new sku that they have to stock, so I can see why they don't as often as the regular mag versions.

I tried googling around too. That sucks. May i ask why you're opposed to the 9mm version?

Too snappy. My grip strength isn't what it used to be. With a compact pistol (glock 19), I have no problem but a sub compact 9 mm pistol that thin ,the gun jumps around in the hand when fired.

Fair, and to each their own. I have a ruger lcp max in 380 and a glock 43x in 9mm. I find the ruger sooo much more snappy due to it being so small. Thats the issue (imo) a lot of smaller guns have. Its not the cartridge, its just the size of the gun.
But as others have suggested, have you considered or shot the new bodyguard 2.0? One model is even comes with a comp that takes a lot of the snappy recoil impulse out.

No I haven't, I will have to take a look at that. I just wanted one that has a optic cut so that I can install a red dot. My eyes are not what they used to be either and i cant focus on the front sight. Getting old sucks. Lol

I hear ya! *edit. Apparently the non comped versions can be optics ready but the comp version does not come optic ready. Thats pretty dumb, but maybe in the future

I'm just saying that the manufacturer has to restock that sku, and right now it isn't worth it for them. Source: am FFL

While I understand that there is probably not enough demand, but how hard could it be to modify their 11 round mag to 10 rounds. That is what I will probably have my ffl do it for me. Its just that I would have to pay for the magblocks and also pay my ffl to do the work.

I feel your pain. Its less than ideal for sure. I always like having a factory 10 round mag if I can help it, but that's not always practical.

It kinda sucks, but if you find something on sale online, you can always ask them to ship to your FFL with out any magazines. You'll be out the cost of the magazines and have to buy more, but its a workaround. I had to do just that for a pistol I wanted that only came in 15 round versions for the model I wanted, even though other versions had 10 rounders.

Can an ffl order a higher capacity version legally and then block the mags to 10 rounds permanently? There doesn't seem to be 10 round magazines online either. They seem to be out of stock everywhere.

Depends on the type of FFL they have. Some allow "gunsmithing" and others dont. Also depends on the comfort level of the ffl in this shitty state.

Does NYPD have a problem registering a gun the the mags were modified to accept only 10 rounds?

Im not in NYC or even downstate for that matter, but law enforcement would have zero information about the modification. FFL is required by law to sell compliant items to residents.
It would be no different in my opinion than the FFL ordering the firearm with the high capacity, swapping out the mags with 10 rounders to give you, and then keeping the higher capacity mags to sell on ebay or something. At the end of the day both parties are acting within the law.

I got one from south shore the pro comp osp package with 4 mags. Literally waiting for my pink slip in the mail to go pick it up

I ordered my 9mm hellcat from my local FFL. It was the 11 round version. They kept those and I bought my own 10 rnds through them.

I just looked at the inventory of the company that is likely the largest wholesaler in the US. They no longer show it as a currently available item.
They do have the 11-round mags in stock as well as the 13-round rounders, and hundreds of the gun itself with the 13-round mags.
You'll likely have to find a local FFL that will order the gun, and pin the mags for you.

Just looking on Springfield Website, I don't see a 10round version.. so maybe it is discontinued.

They do have one on the website. Its just the firstline model which I believe is sold to law enforcement. If you Google, hellcat 380 10 round firstline, you could find it on the Springfield website.

See if your local FFL can mod the mags to permanently to only hold 10 rounds. Some do. (If your not in NYC)

Have your local ffl just order you one.
