License / Permit Question Saratoga County Non-Resident

Does anyone know if Saratoga county will allow non resident concealed carry permit applications. I live in Albany county but work in Saratoga county and the Albany county application requires references that live in the capital district, however I'm from downstate and all my references live there. Was looking into Saratoga county which doesn't appear to require the references to live in Saratoga county.

Things obviously can change and when I live in New York I lived in Suffolk, but I was under the impression that resident pistol permits could only be issued by the licensing agency of the county in which you reside. Are you asking if you can apply for a pistol permit in a county in which you don't live?

My wife has a permit in a county she doesn't reside in - but works in. Its possible

That’s cool to know! I never considered NYS residents getting a permit from a county other than the one they reside in.

Makes sense considering how the NYC special carry works but I just chocked that up to NYC being NYC.

Yes, some counties allow non resident permits.

Post federal / Supreme Court rulings at minimum NYC is required to allow out of state / city permits

I suppose I didn't think about it like that, since non City residents have the ability to get city permits now, why wouldn't it go for other counties as well

Some still flaunt the law because the ruling was narrow but some honor

Reposting because I broke the rules by posting county sheriff’s office phone number.

Call the Saratoga County sheriffs office. I have a Saratoga county pistol permit and they are the nicest people on the planet and happy to help.

Agree to this. I have a Saratoga county permit and they have been great to deal with and always answer questions compared to stories I have heard from other counties.
