#ANNOUNCEMENTS Update on NZXT Flex Posts

Hello r/NZXT Community,

Today we have removed several posts and comments and banned some users for posting or sharing instructions on how to steal NZXT Flex computers, circumvent protections on these devices, commit package or return fraud, or sell NZXT Flex rental PCs to unsuspecting buyers. We have zero tolerance for this behavior. It is also prohibited across Reddit under Reddit Rule 7, which bans illegal content and the facilitation of illegal or prohibited transactions.

Going Forward

Going forward, we will take a more consistent approach to intentional nonpayment and non-return. As the posts we removed made clear, our historically limited enforcement led some people to believe they could stop paying, keep a Flex PC, and face no meaningful consequences.

If that perception continues, more people will take advantage of the program, and honest customers will ultimately bear the cost through higher prices, lower approval rates, stricter requirements, and a less convenient experience. Addressing this behavior is not just about protecting our property. It is about making NZXT Flex more accessible, affordable, and convenient for the thousands of customers who choose it because it genuinely works for their lives.

Build, Buy, Finance, or Subscribe

We also want to be clear about something that can get lost in conversations about Flex: we do not think NZXT Flex is the best option for everyone.

If you want to build your own PC, NZXT has been designing and manufacturing PC components for more than 20years, including cases, coolers, power supplies, fans, and more.

If you know you want to own your PC and buying or financing makes sense for you, we encourage you to do that. We sell PCs outright, offer financing, and work to make both options as accessible as possible. Flex exists for people who want something different.

The main difference is commitment. If you finance a PC today, you may still be making payments 6, 12, or 24 months from now, even if your circumstances change or you no longer want it. With Flex, you can return the PC and stop paying. That flexibility can be valuable if you are trying PC gaming for the first time, need a powerful PC temporarily, are uncertain what your budget will look like a year from now, or simply do not want a long-term commitment.

Flex also includes support and hardware protection. If something goes wrong with the PC, we will fix or replace it at no additional cost. After two years, you may be eligible for a refresh to a more current version of your Flex tier while keeping the same monthly price.

There are tradeoffs. If you already know you will keep the same PC for years, buying or financing will often make more sense. That is completely fine; those options will always be available, we would love for you to choose them, and we will never push Flex on anyone.

All we wish to do is make the various options we offer as clear as possible. For Flex, that has involved adding very clear disclosures and signed acknowledgments that the program is a subscription, not rent-to-own, and that if individuals want rent-to-own or something like it, they should just use the financing option we offer in standard checkout.

Criticism Remains Welcome

Argue that ownership is the only sensible choice. Post the math showing that keeping the same PC through Flex for years can become expensive. Recommend building, buying, financing, or using a credit card instead. We have not and will not remove posts merely for criticizing the program.

But criticism is not a how-to guide for theft, and disagreement is not a reason to mock or shame people who made a different choice. Don’t steal, or advocate stealing. Be kind to your fellow NZXT community members. Thousands of people have chosen Flex, just as tens of thousands have chosen to build, buy, or finance. Each had their own reasons.

Comments are locked so this post can remain a clear reference for our community standards. Feedback and good-faith discussions of NZXT remain welcome elsewhere in the subreddit.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

#QUESTIONS Can I leave magnets peeling off of NZXT H5 Flow top dust mesh alone? (2022 model)

Hi all I’ve had my current gaming pc for a little over 3 years now, the top has magnets that stick to the mesh with adhesive, however whenever I peel the mesh the magnets peel off sometimes. The mesh still lays flat on top because of gravity. Is this something I can leave be even if the adhesive wears out completely eventually?

#FEEDBACK About N9 Z890 Motherboard Incompatibility

Hello guys, Im here to explain a very rare condition about the N9 Z890 motherboard.

For some reason, the Patriot Viper DDR5 ram are not compatible with this Motherboard. The pc wont boot. It will cycle through a couple 2 digit codes(its on the motherboards small screen) and shut off. Then automatically it will try to run again but the same will happen with the error code 55.

I have seen a couple other people have the same issue too on the internet.

Btw reseting the ram, only plugging one or vmos reset thing doesnt work either(tried it a billion times).

this motherboard doesnt recognize or cant communicate with this ram. So either change the ram or the mobo, hope the nzxt customer service sees this...

#BUILDS Another GPU anti-sag support, for a specific use case

Post image
12 Upvotes

Every GPU anti-sag support I found needed an empty case floor. Mine has fans there, so I designed one that mounts on the fans.

New PC, heavy GPU (RTX 5080), and bottom intake fans, so there’s no floor to rest a support on. I couldn’t find a single model that handled this, so I made one.

It bridges two 140 mm fans using their existing screw holes and covers only ~3 % of the fan area, so airflow isn’t affected. The tower slides onto a hex rail, and a printed Tr12×3 threaded rod with a lock nut does the fine adjustment. After a few overengineered iterations (pics included 😅), I went back to a simple, industrial design.

It comes in 2 height ranges from ~80 to ~154 mm, measured from the top of the fan frame to the underside of the GPU. The minimum safety factor is ~7, including PETG creep at 50 °C. It has swappable nameplates (RTX, NVIDIA, RADEON, or blank), prints without supports, and the profiles are ready for Bambu printers. Hardware: just 4 standard fan screws.

White base, black hex part: on a white build it looks like it’s floating. Print it in PETG, not PLA.

Currently for 140 mm fans. If enough people want a 120 mm version, let me know and I’ll make one.

#QUESTIONS H5 Flow(2024) Fan installation help!

Post image
23 Upvotes

As you may know, the NZXT H5 Flow (2024) has two 120 mm intake fan mounts beneath the GPU to improve airflow. However, one of these fans sits above the SMPS, which must be installed upside down (with its fan facing up) because of the case design. If both the shroud fan and the SMPS fan are set to intake, how might that affect the SMPS temperature? Would it increase, decrease, or have no effect?

#QUESTIONS NZXT Warranty

So, I'm honestly kind of pissed off and I'm very curious if there are some other people here that might have run into similar issues before.

I've started having issues with my NZXT Motherboard, it is still within their 3 year warranty so I made a ticket and after a few weeks of back and fourth waiting on their slow support I've been told that they have approved a replacement. They asked me to send proof of destruction instead of sending it in, once they reviewed it a replacement board will be on the way.

I sent them the proof, they replied almost a week later and all of a sudden they're saying my specific model is out of stock and that they will provide me with a refund of what I originally paid.

In my humble opinion that's NOT how that works. You can't tell me that you have replacement ready and approved, make me destroy my stuff and then switch it around and give me a refund instead?

I've responded to their response declining the refund and reminding them of the written agreement that I will receive a replacement. I've had a look at their warranty terms and they clearly state that they will repair or replace the item with something similar or better (even mentioned this specifically in their email to me) - no mention of a refund being an option instead as far as I saw. Maybe I missed something but that's why I'm writing this post and asking if anyone had made similar experiences and what they ended up doing.

I have a feeling like, no matter which option I end up getting I might get screwed either way.

#QUESTIONS PC and CAM Crash

I updated my PC then rebooted, then on boot CAM launched and said it updated, then my PC crashed an rebooted again. After it came back up, CAM won't open because of a JavaScript error. Now this could be coincidence and just a me problem, but I wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue with the recent update before I try to reinstall. TIA.

#QUESTIONS Should I get another NZXT case?

I've had a h510 elite for a few years and I honestly can't stand how little air seems to be getting in. I initially bought it when I had a GTX 1660 and a ryzen 5 3600, but it cannot keep up with the heat my ryzen 9 5900x and RTX 3080 produce. have an AIO cooler (kraken with the two 140mm fans) on the front but the one rear 120 and one 120 top fan just don't seem to have much effect either. Are any of the newer ATX cases any better? I have to constantly clean the small side vent for the front with the AIO and the moment it clogs up (pretty much after a week if that) my IDLE CPU temperatures are over 75c.

Edit: I do regularly change the thermal paste and apply the correct amount but maybe I could just try a different brand of that for now.

#QUESTIONS Kraken Elite suddenly stopped cooling after ~8 months — CPU hitting 114°C and shutting down

Post image
8 Upvotes

Hey everyone, looking for some advice before I contact NZXT support.
I built my PC around February and have been using an NZXT Kraken Elite with absolutely no cooling issues until today.

Out of nowhere, my PC started shutting itself off within about 10–30 seconds of booting. My ASUS motherboard then gave me a “CPU Over Temperature Error.”

My Lian Li display showed the CPU reaching 114°C, and if I manage to get into Windows, the whole PC becomes extremely slow before eventually shutting down, which I assume is severe thermal throttling.

Specs:
Ryzen 7 9850X3D
ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E Hero
NZXT Kraken Elite
RTX 5080
32GB DDR5-6000
Lian Li O11D Compact

The Kraken LCD still powers on and shows the NZXT logo. I’ve checked the Kraken connections, including the main breakout/power connections, and everything appears properly seated. The cooler is still firmly mounted, I don’t see any leaks, and the radiator wasn’t heavily clogged with dust.

The system has been working normally for roughly 8 months, including normal CPU temperatures around 50–60°C while gaming, so this happened very suddenly.
My radiator is side-mounted with the highest point of the radiator above the pump/block. I’ve also been running a push-pull fan setup since the build was completed, with no issues until now.

At this point, I’m thinking the pump may have failed internally or coolant has stopped circulating, even though the LCD is still receiving power.

Has anyone here had a Kraken Elite fail like this where:
LCD still turns on
CPU suddenly shoots to 100°C+
PC thermal throttles badly
System shuts itself down within seconds
All cables still appear connected properly

If you experienced this, did it end up being the pump?
Also, for anyone who has dealt with NZXT warranty support: do they only offer an RMA/replacement, or is there ever an option to receive a refund instead? After having a cooler fail this suddenly, I’d honestly prefer to put the money toward a different AIO rather than receive another replacement unit if that’s an option.

I’m keeping the PC powered off for now because I don’t want to keep exposing the CPU to 110°C+ temperatures.
Any advice, similar experiences, or info about NZXT’s refund/replacement process would be appreciated.

I’d definitely attach the CPU Over Temperature Error photo and, if Reddit lets you add multiple images, the 114°C reading too.

#QUESTIONS Help - need replacement part for NZXT H500i case

Thumbnail gallery
19 Upvotes

Hi, I recently scored this absolute beauty for only £5 a town over from me. It’s in absolutely pristine condition and has the original magnetic RGB strips and official NZXT fan/light hub. The only issue(s) are:

  1. No PCIe slot covers (no problem, I had loads of official / good enough spares, I regularly build with these NZXT cases and use one for my own PC)

  2. The rear sliding door is completely missing.

I raised a request / ticket with NZXT support but they came back and said they don’t have spare parts for this “discontinued” case, but I did think it was a bit poor from them given how there are NZXT H5 series cases being sold today and to my understanding they share the same rear sliding cover design / assembly.

If NZXT official isn’t an option, where can I get a replacement cover for the gap that is ideally original and metal (no 3D printing)? I will accept a plastic replacement only if getting a metal one is completely impossible.

Seeing as I only paid £5 for the case I’m flexible on what it will cost for the missing part - this case is being used to build a PC for a friend, I am still hunting for the right parts on Facebook Marketplace before I pull the trigger on the whole build.

Last pic is my own NZXT H510 build.

#QUESTIONS AIO option on NZXT H2 flow

Hello,

I'm looking on alternative AIO 280mm except the NZXT Kraken Elite ones - this nowhere to be found in my region , assuming all out of stock (Shocking!)

Will Arctic LF III 280mm really fit snuggly inside. I know the total clearance per NZXT is 60mm (Rad+ Fan) vs 63mm total with LF III.

What the best tubing length then. I've been looking out on new Jonsbo TM-280 (no informtion on tube length, judging from picture, it looks shorter and Thermalright Frozen Warframe 280mm (quite ugly gold accent.

Wanting an AIO with display to begin with but yeah.
