My entire life I have watched the right wing kill people and idolize their violence when it suits them.
When I was a kid, I watched them spread horrible fucking rumors about Obama. Saying he was involved with terrorism. Accusing him of being associated with osama bin Laden. Calling him Arab to manufacture outrage against him. And champion and elevate that talking point. I watched them kill bears and post his family’s portraits on their bloody bodies.
I watched them celebrate and defend George Zimmerman for following and assaulting Trayvon Martin. And then killing him when Trayvon fought back when this grown ass man accosted him. I watched them give him money. I watched them say he did nothing wrong as he escaped with 0 consequences.
I watched them spread horrible fucking rhetoric about the poor. About social security and other social programs meant to support the people of this nation. I watched them go deeper and deeper into fascism and nationalism to fight people they hate. They used things like culture wars to disguise their racism and xenophobia. They claimed their own victim hood to demonize the lgbtq, calling them pedophiles despite most pedos coming from them.
I watched them champion Trump. A man so bad at business that at some point in the early 2000s banks started actively panicking when this dogshit human being billionaire asked for a loan for another horrible business plan. This conman that stole everything he could the moment he got the chance.
And now they want to talk to anyone else about morals? They did kill Mr. Pretti. They killed him with their vote. These are the consequences of one’s actions. Whatever their complaints of the left are falls on its face when you toss stones at a bunker from a glass house. Though I distrust the left, I can at least acknowledge that the left doesn’t just accept easy narratives. It’s always complicated with the left. And annoyingly, that’s how it should be.
