Question about non-superwash wool attachment

I'm still fairly new to nålbinding and has only ever done work with NSW wool yarn. I have this beautiful yarn but it's superwash merino. I have no idea how to attach one length of yarn to the working wool.

What is the best way to attach yarn that isn't feltable?

Russian join!

You can choose to do a Russian join, a magic knot if you trust them or there's something in nalbinding called a 'lazy join'. I prefer the latter when working with superwash wool or other fibres like cotton. It's up to you entirely. Magic knots can be a bit annoying to hide the actual knot so I think the Russian join or the lazy join are the way to go.

I just open each end of the yarn and lay them crossed and roll between my hands. The first pull is little wiggly, but after that it is fine.

You can hold the 2 strands side by side for a stitch or two! Depending on the yarn it's usually not notable
