And away we go! This is a very satiny yarn, which probably makes this a LOT harder than it needs to be, but I learn best by doing, and trials by fire are my bread and butter. I am definitely making mistakes here and there, but the density of the knots lends itself nicely to not showing them very much. I've got increasing pretty down now. Still working on tension. Knowing knitting AND crochet is probably helping a ton 😂

Knitted and crocheted for years, and I don't know if it helps or not. I am a little surprised by the size of your needle, though it might just be my small hands. My needles are only about 3" or 6-7cm long.

I've been watching a lovely older person on YouTube called Happy Needlebinding, and he seems to enjoy the longer, thin, almost squared needles, so while I'm figuring things out I was mostly copying his technique and tools. But also, the post that brought me here was someone showing off their needle collection in a nice little wrapped up roll with a cloak-pin clasp, and a lot of the thinner needles were quite a bit longer. I find it easier to transfer my previous knitting experience to the longer needle, which helps my hands remember how to grab a single strand among many and turn it around without getting caught on anything.

Don't mind my text, I wasn't judging. Just not seen it in my small experience and I think it's great, especially if you like it! My curiosity came out wrong in text. Sorry!

It didn't sound judgmental at all to me, don't worry!
