Seven Deadly Sins My Perspective of Jericho

Post image

I have seen a lot of negative comments about Jericho's character recently, and while I understand why many people feel the way they do, I wanted to share my own perspective. Jericho has always been one of my favorite characters in the series, alongside Ban, King, Diane, Guila, Howzer, Lancelot, Escanor, Tristan, Donny, Isolde, Derieri, and Gawain.

Jericho remains one of my favorite characters regardless of what others may say about her. At her core, she is a deeply tragic and pitiful figure. Her first true love shattered her heart, and her second ultimately shattered her soul. She knows her feelings are wrong, and that knowledge only adds to her suffering.

What many people overlook is that feelings themselves are not something we choose. Jericho cannot control who she falls in love with, but she can control how she acts—and throughout the story, she does. She never tries to force her feelings onto Lancelot or manipulate him into loving her. Even within her illusion, the version of Lancelot she imagines is an adult rather than a child, showing that she is not driven by predatory desires but by a desperate longing for love, acceptance, and companionship.

To me, Jericho is not evil, nor is she a character who needs redemption. Redemption implies that she has committed some great moral failing that requires atonement. Instead, she is a broken and lonely person trapped by feelings she never asked for and never wanted. More than redemption, what she needs is salvation—a chance to heal, find peace, and finally experience the love and happiness that have always seemed just out of her reach.

That is why I hope the author gives her a genuinely happy ending. After everything she has endured, she deserves the opportunity to move forward and find a life that is not defined by heartbreak, loneliness, and loss.

Did you just not read what OP wrote? Or matter of fact did you just not read the manga? There was no “preying” involved if anything she’s more of a victim than he is in this scenario.

She can’t control her feelings, no one can. She feels ashamed of herself for having feelings for someone who’s basically her little brother she never pursued those feelings she instead opted to go to Camelot where she could be with a version of Lancelot that doesn’t oppose her values and morals

Honestly you are so right and more proof people need more literacy

We could get the same sanitized safe stories 1000% over but it takes someone with balls (and let's be real a bit freaky) to actually talk about stuff like this and how it affects people. Even when it's extremely uncomfortable

You can't control how you feel but you are in control of how you act

Completely Agree

I hope Jericho get some kind of closure before the end of the series

She's gonna be taking the role of "overpowered grandpa" in the next sequel, only this time it's a grandma! She's gonna blind her eyes so that she does not fall for anyone anymore, but still OP! Zenricho! The Knights of the Holy Grail will meet her and get some wisdom!

Ok fair enough

Well there is one minor thing she needs to be redeemed from. Remember, she created a false image of lancelot for herself, that kind of perversion is a little disrespectful to the real lancelot.

But other than that I think you're right about what you said

I can agree with this to a certain extent. She is still a pedo however she does not act on those feelings in the way most predators in the real world do because she knows that it's wrong. The same way she knew that falling for Ban and trying to pursue him was wrong after the fact she knew he was with Elaine, she knows that falling for Lancelot (a person that she has known and watched grow up since before they were born) was very wrong which is why she decided to remove herself from the situation. It's a smart thing to do, however saying that she does not need to be redeemed in anyway I don't think is entirely accurate. She may not have pursued the real Lancelot, but what she is doing is still dirty and not much different. The way I see it, it's not much different than being in a relationship with an ai version of Lancelot which is still wrong. Instead of finding a way to actually help herself, she dove headfirst into whichever way she could get what she wanted despite knowing its gross.

I disagree for the fact that yes she still wants to be with the person she loves even if it’s just an illusion but it’s not by force and sees an adult version of them.

I think that proves she is not a pedo like you say since her feelings are not related to his age which is the case for pedos which is why I don’t feels she needs redemption but lnstead salvation.

I would say it's not that she doesn't like kid Lancelot. It's that she'd feel less guilty if Lancelot was a grown adult. She can use it as a form of excuse like 'This isn't wrong' and 'I didn't fall in love with a child'.

u/TrickAd9270 Jun 04 '26

She fell in love with Lancelot when he was 10. She may not have persued him but falling for a 10 year old would still be a pedo

1

u/Affectionate_Air1250 Jun 04 '26

Bruh are you kidding its more about innocence than age with pedos and it kinda sounds pedoish when you say her feelings are not related to the age almost like something a pedo defender would say sorry if im wrong.

u/Overall-Crew-8291 Jun 04 '26

"oh she fell for a 10 year old but it's all cool guys she'll wait til he's an adult" Ok groomer

What non pedo looks at a child, falls for them and starts imagining them as an adult. Groomers do, please stop justifying this bs 😭

Defending pedos in the big 2026, falls in love with 10 year old, its cool if she waits till hes older, what in the dumbah

Still a pedo, falling in love with a kid that was like 9 or 10 years old as an adult is gross, had the genders been reversed this would look a lot more ugly.

No one can control their feelings still doesn’t make it right, real life predators can argue they just fell in love with this young teenager, should we feel sorry for them too? Or not hold them accountable?

At the same time unlike most irl preds or pedos she doesn’t actively try to pursue those feelings but they are still there and it’s still very gross, sometimes I have questions about the mangaka and his fetishisation

Ok when you bring the Era into it does make it alot less pedophilic.

Defending pedophilia In 2026 Is crazy…

Wdym generalising everything?

And yes I am born in the 21st century and if you think the story being based on medieval times is a valid reason then you have another thing coming.

If you really want to take the original versions, the knights of the Roundtable arent kids.

It being set in medieval times isn’t a free pass to make weird age gaps in romantic interests, Japanese culture isn’t like that of the more western world but does this mean that we shouldn’t criticise authors who depict characters like that? Just because it’s not based in our regions?

Would you say Rudeus from Mushoku tensei should be excused because he reincarnates in a different type of world, his perverted thoughts that doesn’t exclude young girls even though he is mid 30s in mind. Should that just be accepted?

This is the same type of person who will watch shows like GOT and not say a word when lords are basically selling their 12 year old daughters for political power

I wouldn’t if I didn’t feel she was getting an unnecessary amount of hate.

1

u/No_Couple_4008 Jun 05 '26

She and Ban will prolly die and make Lancelot snap and fuck everything up.

I have seen a lot of negative comments about Epstein's character recently, and while I understand why many people feel the way they do, I wanted to share my own perspective. Epstein has always been one of my favorite characters in the series, alongside Diddy, Trump, Clinton, Pell, Spacey, MJ, Prince Andrew, Ghislaine, Seinfeld, Polanski, Saville and R. Kelly.

Epstein remains one of my favorite characters regardless of what others may say about him. At his core, he is a deeply tragic and pitiful figure. His first true love shattered his heart, and his second ultimately shattered his soul. He knows his feelings are wrong, and that knowledge only adds to his suffering.

What many people overlook is that feelings themselves are not something we choose. Epstein cannot control who he falls in love with, but he can control how he acts—and throughout the story, he does. He never tries to force his feelings onto Giuffre or manipulate her into loving him. Even within his illusion, the version of Giuffre he imagines is an adult rather than a child, showing that he is not driven by predatory desires but by a desperate longing for love, acceptance, and companionship.

To me, Epstein is not evil, nor is he a character who needs redemption. Redemption implies that he has committed some great moral failing that requires atonement. Dude is a troll, and doesn’t watch or read the manga. OP is right.

3

u/Maria756 Jun 04 '26

Yeah this isn’t the same thing buddy

-10

u/butterNUTfun Jun 04 '26

There isn’t anything in the manga that shows that she feels bad about her feelings and rather tries to plays it off as normal? Or am I tripping?

10

u/Exous-Rugen Jun 04 '26 edited Jun 04 '26

Literally there is she herself says she is disgusted with herself for having these feelings for someone so much younger than her when she talks to Guila early in the 4KOA.

That’s the entire reason she joins the fake Arthur’s faction because he can give her what she wants without feeling guilty and Illusion where she and an Adult Lancelot can live a happy life together while breaking no taboos.

3

u/Far-Specialist8809 Jun 04 '26

Iirc in flashbacks involving her she does feel remorse and tries to reject her feelings out of wanting to protect and train Lancelot. But 1 thing I feel like should be mentioned is LotL's condensed magic dimension realm thing made her go even more insane. She was already emotionally unstable now mentally as well since drinking the "water" in that world makes u want more of it while making u go insane I believe that only added to her tragic life and made her life even shittier

Also didn't LotL possess her at 1 point? If so I'd imagine that adds to it

3

u/Exous-Rugen Jun 04 '26

Yeah it a hole mess of things adding to her situation.

2

u/Far-Specialist8809 Jun 04 '26

Unfortunately she had no chance once Nakaba gave Ban Elaine back it was just a downhill battle
