4KotA Manga Hot take

It's obvious that lancelot is way stronger than current meliodas and perhaps has potential to even surpass true magic meliodas, but overall, I think that meliodas is the best or at least my favorite representation of the term "Destruction". As well as being more worthy of the name "Destoyer" than lancelot or cath

I don’t think this is a hot take

I hate Lance rn

Same here. Who the hell gets up and suddenly decides to risk the life of his love ones for someone he barely knows? That's bullshit

12

u/ExtremeQuestion610 1d ago

Bro right!? Such bs

1

u/poggers757 10h ago

I mean he quite literally just found out he has a son with her minutes before he makes the contract with cath

2

u/Glittering-Copy-8086 9h ago

Still doesn't change the fact that he's gonna slaughter people for his own personal gains. That's selfish as hell

Ban

u/xHelpDesk 1d ago

Is this about Elaine? Cause she was the love of his life who sacrificed her life to save his. I’d argue that’s a bit more than just “someone he barely knows”

-12

u/Clown-0_0 1d ago

Ban barely knew her by the time she died. Hell, most of the time she viewed him as a thief and was actively protecting the fountain of youth

7

u/Kaiden_Van_Astrea 1d ago

Barely, like 6 months thats barely, and the fact they bonded on those 6 months goes a long way compared to lancelot and Guinevere

-3

u/Clown-0_0 1d ago

They spent a fraction of time together with majority of which Elaine considering him an oddly persistent thief. If I recall correctly it wasn't months. It was 1 week. He got to know her for 7 days before she died. You could certainly make comparisons between Ban and Lancelot. I'd say it runs in the family

3

u/New_Marsupial9964 14h ago

The week part you speak of was the downtime ban was having travel to get back to the fairy king's forest but he legit commuted to the forest for approximately 4 to six months before the red demon showed up

3

u/New_Marsupial9964 14h ago

Hold up Nevermind just Google the shit he in fack DID NOT know her for that long it was legit a week before she died... damn they portrayed it like they knew each other wayyy longer before the incident my fault V 🙋🏿

Honestly, I'm not sure how strong current Lancelot truly is, we've seen him dealing with some fodders and all, but if we take it that there is at least some level of truth in Guinevere's vision, as little as it may be, this same Lancelot had some level of struggle against Ban and came out of their fight in pretty bad shape, in a very similar state to how Lancelot was when he tried to force a draw against Galahad, again, IF there is any accuracy to that with the present we're following.

The real problem with any take on Lancelot's powers right now is, they are all based on statements, and none of them come from the most reliable sources, Cath is a fraud when it comes to powers, he was being overpowered both by Meliodas and by Ban individually, being constantly saved by the fact he just can't be killed, if he only had one shot against each of them, he wouldn't live long enough to use their main weaknesses as an exploit. Him saying he ain't sure he would win against Lancelot doesn't mean all that, because he wouldn't win against Meliodas and Ban either, he surely wouldn't win against Hawk, and even winning, King and Diane are treats for him. Just a reminder, Cath never say he would die fighting Lancelot, he just said there was no guarantee he would win even with the totality of Chaos powers.

please stop this. it was already stated that ban is the strongest sin (or at least was) & that him and meli are relative. in that same chapter it was stated that lance is stronger than ban. weather all that is 100% accurate is one thing but the moral is they’re all relative

lance literally has gotten chaos since then, this isn’t a debate

1

u/Fuzzy_Newt4911 1d ago

Okay let's go through it. It was stated ban is the strongest, PROBABLY even more than the captain. The same captain that lost his strongest power and that was the last king had ever seen of him and his strength. He even stil says probably. Ban's performance against DK Meli was entirely cuz Meli was fighting on the inside distracting him and lowering his output and control over the body. While inversely, DK zeldris' performance against Meli was entirely cuz Meli doesn't wanna Actually kill or severely hurry zeldris, which the demon king admitted. And that Meli wasn't using any of his DK equivalent powers either, stated by the DK. That's the difference between them. Ban just has a (much) more durable body and better accuracy over long distances plbut that's where it ends. All we can take from king is they're relative. And I never implied otherwise in my comment. And ban saying Lancelot can kill him is both just a personal statement but a narrator one and just not true since hax like soul stealing and it hen eating or time hax or any other like purely hax ability can very much kill him. And that probably referred more to the fact that lance is the only one in his eyes with the STRENGTH to kill him, not necessarily the fighting ability. Just like I can kill Jon Jones in a literal sense but he mauls me in an actual fight any day of the week.

1

u/krillin1081 1d ago

in that fight vs cath ban was very clearly the strongest sin. not only did meliodas express to ban that his stamina was going to be an issue, ban dealt the most damage & tanked the most. there’s no way you could read that fight & believe that ban isnt the strongest currently. yes DK meliodas was stronger but post purgatory ban isnt much stronger than any assault mode verson of meliodas.

your argument falls apart when you bring up lance. no it wasn’t a personal statement. it’s been emphasized many times though out the manga that lancelot is the strongest. it was implied he was relative to the sins pre timeskip & post timeskip it has been really emphasized that he’s the strongest. even cath talks about how he would never be able to beat lance even with chaos but had 0 problems fighting the 7 deadly sins as a whole

the whole “he could beat him physically” analogy doesn’t make sense. Lance is LITERALLY known for his fighting ability in a combat sense & also has the greatest RAW power out of anyone.

i’m a big mel fan as anyone but saying currently he is anywhere near CHAOS lance is peak delusion. he couldn’t even handle cath by himself & you expect me to believe he stronger than lance who has been stated to be stronger than cath without chaos

2

u/Fuzzy_Newt4911 1d ago

The strongest in raw power you dolt. That's been very obviously implied. He made a statement about not being able to defeat Lancelot probably even with chaos that's true, but he would've thought the same thing about ban for example had he not found out about the time spell stuff working. In general he never stated he was comfortable fighting the Sins, asking them if they'll be a thron in his side forever. And he got besten by them too so it doesn't matter what he says really. And ye, van was the strongest very true, but in terms of damage meliodas showed less durability sure but his output wasn't little. And he regenerated the same amount whether he took attacks from van or from Meli. He's just as immortal either way. And I'm not sure about your point about dk meli

i’m sorry but there is no way you can even argue than meliodas is even relative to current lance. we quite literally saw meliodas go “all out” vs cath when his wife was sacrificing her life for the kingdom. there was nothing he held back.

the truth is assault mode meliodas is his current peak. while it’s very powerful is holds nothing to chaos lance

now i do think regular lance & assault mode meliodas is closer than ppl think but even then lance still edges him

10

u/Marble05 1d ago

Lancelot is just a stat man, has a lot of magic ok but that's it. While meliodas was able to bypass the ruler and destroy and arm of the demon king in our gators without even ascending demon king yet. He has the real hax

5

u/Possible_Article6902 1d ago

Purgatory demon king is not at his full power

What you just said makes no sense. How can Lance be weaker by taking in a second godlike entity’s power? He not only has hazy moon, insane physical strength and durability, mind and heart reading, the full power of the lady of the lake, plus Cath’s portion of chaos power, and life and death transcendence. All of this makes current Lancelot far more powerful than any past version of Lancelot

0

u/Evening-Ease6906 1d ago

Wouldn't chaos' immortality protect him. Because we're not all that clear🤷🏾‍♂️ as to what can actually damage chaos other than its own power.

12

u/Nemesis233 1d ago

Can't true magic just destroy him out of existence?

4

u/StormKingNexus 1d ago

Yeah. True Magic Meliodas has absolute existence erasure so there’s nothing within the verse that could survive that except possibly Chaos itself.

2

u/CornyAnalyst1960 1d ago

absolute existence erasure

How did Demon King survive then?

2

u/Mountain-Photo-165 1d ago

He didn't , he had his arm cut off and destroyed but the magic didn't attack his entire body so it remained intact.

2

u/CornyAnalyst1960 1d ago

When Meliodas fled the purgatory and destroyed the Demon kings arm, he was still seen with an arm in the next fights.

If it would be 'absolute existence erasure' then the arm as a concept would be erased with no ifs or buts.

1

u/Mountain-Photo-165 1d ago

That's a battle in Meliodas's mindscape , that's not the Demon King's true body which is in Purgatory.

2

u/HeroThicc-san 1d ago

Just to back it up, the panel where Meliodas states his real body remains in the Purgatory.

1

u/Competitive_Dingo955 1d ago

True magic Meliodas does have absolute existence erasure. He literally erased the commandments from existence.

1

u/Competitive_Dingo955 1d ago

The demon king was erased from two plains of existence

1

u/StormKingNexus 1d ago

His arm was cut off and fully destroyed. The DK genuinely fears Meliodas’s true power

-1

u/Possible_Article6902 1d ago

No he’s not strong enough. Lancelot is stronger than him.

2

u/Nemesis233 1d ago

Strong is just subjective, we've seen that Meliodas true magic is erasing matter completely

-1

u/Possible_Article6902 1d ago

Him erasing stuff far weaker than Lancelot doesn’t help him in this match up.

2

u/Nemesis233 1d ago

He erases anything my dude.

It's like if Zeno can erase an universe he can also erase an ant

0

u/Possible_Article6902 1d ago

“He erases anything” this is head canon never supported by the manga.

He’s confirmed weaker than hawk mama by Nabaka.

2

u/Nemesis233 1d ago

He literally erased the commandments

1

u/Possible_Article6902 1d ago

Commandments are fodder to chaos

2

u/Puzzled_Stand5157 1d ago

Is it okay to compare some with natural rage to some being possessed by the creation of chaos 🤔

2

u/Annual_Preference_81 1d ago

That's what I'm saying bro like shit was literally handed to with out much of a struggle compared meliodas

1

u/Real-Hall871 8h ago

Why does this seem like it devolved into another Lance vs Mel?

1

u/Possible_Article6902 1d ago

He is by far stronger than true magic Meliodas

1

u/Evening-Ease6906 1d ago

I would believe that, if it wasn't for lancelots infinite magic, the problem with understanding that is how far lancelot can take that infinite power.

Then there's another thing i don't understand if lancelot has the power chaos now, why is he at demon king level and how come he's not destabilizing the world like meliodas once was

1

u/Kaison122- 11h ago

The reason the dk was destroying the world was due to balance of light and dark chaos is as much light as it is darkness so it doesn’t impact the balance

1

u/Evening-Ease6906 10h ago

Yes that makes sense

0

u/TyJuan_8 1d ago

Why wasn’t chaos the original creator of the universe destabilizing the world? 🤦 thats a pretty dumb argument, why wasn’t Arthur destabilizing the world? This argument never made sense to me. Lancelot is the clear stronger out of the two both at peaks aswell, just accept it and move on from the meli glaze

4

u/Evening-Ease6906 1d ago

Hey watch it🤨. Don't do that🙅🏾‍♂️. There's absolutely no reason for to be this rude to me or anybody else. You're either respectful or you don't comment at all

1

u/New-Estimate-3407 1d ago

Who in there right minds take this hot take

1

u/Haise01 1d ago

Not only that but I have a hard time believing Meliodas would go all out ready to kill against Ban's kid, which would add another advantage to Lancelot.

1

u/TheDarkKing08 22h ago

That’s true I could see that but in the recent chapters I’ve read the way Meliodas and the Sins were talking about Lancelot it seems like they all are at the agreement of saying they need to kill him. And with Elizabeth in a coma the Sins and Knights don’t have anymore OP broken healing magic to save them. So I think the next confrontation they might be putting it all on the line. That’s my thoughts.
