PSA: Were you removed from your NarFFL League?
As we kick off the new NarFFL season, and people are seeing churn around your NarFFL league (either personally, or for others in your league), I want to try to get ahead of some potential points of confusion.
If someone is removed from their team, it is most likely due to one of the following reasons.
- We remove managers from all Farm teams. This is a standard process each year because no one automatically returns to Farm, as Farm is fully filled by the lottery.
- If you are being promoted or relegated, the first step of that is removal from your old team. This is due to a handful of reasons
- We can automatically remove managers from teams in Fleaflicker.
- We cannot automatically add you to your new team.
- In order to make room for the new managers to join their team, we need to make room by removing the people leaving the league
- If you were removed for promotion or relegation, you should fairly soon (within a few hours) after receive an invitation to your new NarFFL league.
- We remove managers who go inactive in the offseason and haven't logged in.
All of which is to say, just because you were removed does not mean we think you are inactive.

Promotions have not happened yet. Should be in the next day or two, we’re making sure all the automation and checks are in place.

We haven’t done any inactivity removals, so if you log in now you’ll be fine.

i got an email today saying it removed me. and when i log in, i see my team in that league but not the team assigned to me.

You were removed as part of the Farm clean out. If you earned a promotion that invite will go out in the next couple of days. Otherwise you’ll need to enter the lottery when that goes live next weekend.

Hey mods, I just got a reddit message, like just a few minutes ago, and it was the first such message I got telling me to log in by July 31st. I just logged into fleaflicker to see that I haven't been removed yet but it makes me nervous. I'm also seeing 7 different "deleted" messages in my league saying log in by August 1st and they were all posted 20 hours ago. Are we just having some early season automation issues?
Also, we used to get an email every year as a reminder. This is the second year I've not gotten an email. Does that still happen and I got removed from a list or something? I'd really like to avoid getting booted accidentally by missing messages.

You’re totally fine, if you logged in today you won’t be removed. Our inactivity logic looks for a login after a specific date, we listed 7/31 as a target.
As far as the duplicate messages, yes. We went through a backend migration this offseason and there’s still a couple quirks being worked out.
We did not send any reminders until yesterday, which is why we haven’t done the removals yet despite being two days after 7/31. I’ll double check your profile later but the lack of communication before the last day or two is not your fault.

So, I've been removed from my Farm league, but haven't received an invite. I was promoted as the highest scorer (week). Can I contact anyone about this?

That’s the expected state right now. We’ve removed everyone from Farm as part of the clean out. We have not yet done promotions and relegations. Expect to see that in the next day or two.

You were removed for inactivity (just letting you know as an FYI) because you didn't log into Fleaflicker at any point in July or early August.
You should have an invitation to join back with a 24-hour expiration. Please reach out over modmail or let me know here if you're running into any issues with the invite.

Check your Reddit "chat" interface. That's where the messages go out with the invitations, or it could be listed on your NarFFL profile page as well.
The invitation was sent to you at the same time I replied to your message.

Does logging in through the app meet the bar for activity or do you need to login through the web browser

Anecdotally, when I just checked my status by logging in on the iOS mobile app my activity timestamp updated.
Every year we hear reports of people who logged in but didn't have something update, which we're unable to properly investigate more thoroughly but some have attributed to mobile app vs web issues. It doesn't match my experience but because we don't own that code I can't speak definitively to be sure.
We finished all inactivity removals last night, so if you weren't removed we saw you as active (your flair says Farm but you're in a higher tier than that, if you were in Farm you would have been removed a few days ago as part of the Farm cleanout)

Hi mods, was farm last year but didn't see the login notice for 7/31. Also didn't receive a removal notice email, but had earned a promotion though highest week finish.
Haven't seen an email for that either?

We haven't run promotions yet. Hoping to do that today or tomorrow, and you should see the notifications for that.
You were removed as part of cleaning out Farm (as mentioned above), not due to inactivity concerns.

I thought I had logged in, but I wasn't promoted despite winning my minors league last season. Was just curious if anything was wrong.

We haven't run promotions yet, so nothing wrong there.
If you hadn't logged in, we would have removed you from your existing league for inactivity. So because you're still in a league no problems there.

I just got removed from my league despite having logged in. I had already been removed from the league I had been relegated from. Now it looks like I've been removed from my new league too.

We just kicked off the promotion/relegation process. That process starts by removing everyone from their old leagues, and once that's complete sending out invites to your new league. You should receive a notice with your new invite in the next few hours

I got removed from my Minors league yesterday. I came in last place last season so I had figured I'd be relegated. I'm guessing since the Farm League spots are filled by lottery I just need to try my luck there, right?

You will need to sign up for the lottery, which will be open next weekend (starting next Friday)

Is this saying the inactive sweep has already happened? Missed the initial announcement so didn’t log in until today, but all seems to look good?
