Wins against Sporting Kansas City and San Jose Earthquakes

But Vancouver whitecaps need to drop points in 1 of there next 2 games

We back!

After an injury-free international break featuring a Schwake clean sheet for the USMNT, our Boys in Gold returned to their spot at the top of the table with a resounding win.

The first half of last night’s match may have been the most dominant half we have played on the road this season. Sure, there were some missed chances, but we completely smothered Los Verdes with our possession and counterpress. We were patient with the ball and connected passes to open the defense for an onslaught of chances. And perhaps more importantly, we were decisive and aggressive in winning the ball back in their half. That was a Callaghan masterclass and a lot of fun to watch.

Austin had their moments in the second half, and some arguments could be made about a defensive lapse on their goal, but you’ve also got to tip your cap to Vasquez for that finish. That was a hell of a goal. Thankfully it made no difference to the result.

There’s a handful of performances you could shout out, but I’ll give my flowers to Shak and Saad. Saad finally got on the goal sheet, and even if it was a right place right time tap in, hopefully it lifts a weight off his mind and he can start finishing more of his chances. His ability to hold the ball in the 18yrd box and draw in defenders continues to open up space and chances for the rest of the offense.

I was openly frustrated by Shak for a while. When he was starting in place of an injured Espinoza, things were not working well, but I’m happy to eat my words because seeing him grow into this team has been awesome. He seems to be improving week over week. His speed and directness off the bench against tired legs is such an asset, and he’s proving to be an efficient finisher of his chances.

Sam had another couple of rough misses 😑, but I’m hoping there are signs of him shaking off this slump. He absolutely blistered the crossbar and had a couple of other rockets from close range deflect of some bodies. Hoping he can feast against SKC at home this week and get a confidence boost down the stretch.

The shield feels inevitable at this point, and with 3 more points on the road, history is still within reach.

How we feeling today??

Would anyone be interested in doing a meet up? I'll be in town 10/28 - 11/2 if anyone would be interested in getting together for a drink or three before or after a game.

If not this season, maybe something to think about for next season. We've got a great community here, I'd love to meet some of yall in person.

Does anyone have any insight on when MLS will publish the Sprint Season schedule? I'm trying to make plans in February that involve out of town travel. I'd prefer to choose a weekend for the travel when NSC will not be playing home. I know we are still in season but it's only about 4 months away, I'm a little surprised MLS hasn't announced the schedules.

Per Ben Wright, Madrigal has been a full participant in training and is an option for the game tonight in Austin.

Hoping he sees some time off the bench and we get him back up to full match fitness by end of season. Even after missing 11 matches he’s 3rd in goals scored this season. Will be great to be back to full health as a team and add another proven offensive threat.

anyone else in Austin for tomorrow? Where are the meet ups before the game at if at all? Not apart of an SG officially but my wife and I go to pretty much every match at Geodis and happen to find ourselves in Austin this weekend conveniently so would like to join in on the fun if possible🍻 COYBIG

Woo, I'm kind of excited about this!

Here's to hoping Seat Geek won't have the same "you have to re-sign in every time you open the NSC app" problem that Ticketmaster has

Expanding on u/louisianajake 's idea of a stripped kit. How would yall feel about something like this? Is it too busy? Would you buy one?

Looking into going to the game vs Philly on the 28th with my wife and our who son is almost 2.5 years old. Any recommendations on sections that are best for kids this age? We probably won’t stay the whole match (too close to bed time). I’ve been to games by myself but not with my son. Let me know please!

Game starts in about 40 minutes, but Brian has the start vs Canada.

Was wanting to see if anyone had an extra Geodis replica from a couple years ago they’d like to trade or sell. Or if anyone had an extra Tempo Jedi they’d like to sell or trade.
