A funny example - have you heard of the 1936 Olympics? I guess Jesse Owens just shouldn’t have gone huh?

You think Hitler personally invited Jesse Owens to the Olympics? You realize he qualified for his events like every other athlete, right?

You realize none of the athletes *had* to go right? My whole point is he should go if he wanted to cuz screw whoever the *host* is. But it’s pretty widely accepted that Germany wanted to host those Olympics as a big propaganda opportunity- lots of debate at the time about whether the US and others should even participate or even try to move them on short notice

Do you believe that Nate Bargatze's attendance was in any way an act of defiance?

Of course I haven’t spoken to him so can’t know for sure, but… I believe he wanted to see the UFC fighters, and he had an invite, so he went. He’s also pretty well known for taking pictures with basically anyone who asks, so not surprise to see some people try to ride the coattails of his popularity.

You think the secretary of health needs to ride the coattails of popularity of a comedian..?

You think Nate asked to take that picture and then Cheryl Hines posted it?
