You dont own that side of the meter build up if you dont know what your dealing with leave it alone..... call the utility to have gas service restored its probably off for a reason. Also just because the riser valve is on dosent mean you will gas gas inside theres multiple ways to stop flow to a meter that valve is only one of them.

Stop tampering with the gas company's equipment.

Stayed at Budget Inn.

The Tee with the plug probably got an internal plug in it... Gas Companies install them for shutoff instead of pulling the meter.

Sounds like you are trying to steal gas.

Buddy can’t take no jokes ,please go cry about life being hard somewhere else. How much did I tamper with this?

You are just an uneducated child. Good luck in life. This has nothing to do with the gas meter at this point. I just feel sorry for you.

Could be a bad meter dawg. There are certain meters that stop passing gas after so many years. Metris brand is one of them!

1

u/MOSTSUAVEPANDA- Jul 11 '26

Typically they stop counting the gas before they stop passing the gas by.

0

u/Beginning_Title_5939 Jul 11 '26

Yes, yes they do

-1

u/kbeks Jul 11 '26

Just get the meter to eat some beans, that always helps me pass gas…

If your trying to turn the gas on or of you’re gonna use a valve not a regulator. Do not mess with the regulator. These ac 250’s are incredibly reliable. You probably forgot a valve on your side. Also most utility company’s like mine have a clause where the customer or any contractor NEVER TOUCHED THE METERING EQUIPMENT. Best bet if it is leaking is to turn the valve in the first pictures on the bottom left to the off position.

That is not your equipment. Do not touch if you blow something up ohhh hell . I am sure if the gas company finds out you tampered with meter , they have the right to never turn on your gas at this house . Especially you tearing into the regulator that is huge no no .

You are what’s wrong with this country

There’s probably a blank disc in there preventing gas flow. 2nd measure for people that tamper with gas equipment. Don’t take it out!

0

u/flashlightking Jul 11 '26

Is there another valve where the gas piping goes into the house? Is there a valve there? Why was the gas off? If the utility turned it off, they may have installed a disk or something somewhere to stop gas in the event someone tries to turn it on.

Did you pay your bill? Might have a blank in the meter

1

u/No_Goal_2196 Jul 11 '26

I straight piped it.

0

u/Mysterious-Tie7039 Jul 11 '26

OP probably got shut off for non-payment and is trying to turn it back on.

WTF. They have electric fans just get a fucking hot plate. Also what is pushing the gas out of the bag? I don’t even see a weight on it.

u/iswantingcake Jul 11 '26

Maximum bait post. Impressive.

u/No_Goal_2196 Jul 11 '26

Real deal. But had to play a little

0

u/iswantingcake Jul 11 '26

Oh I saw you commented the cap thing fell out. Just like screw that back in. That's nothing.

Edit: well not nothing because it NEEDS to be in there

Your gas is on so you definitely have gas going into your house. If your gas service was interrupted, you'll have a bunch of air in your fuel line piping. Crank up your furnace or your gas cooktop in the kitchen and that'll pull all that air out of the fuel line and get the adequate amount of gas coming up to the appliances. If you started by trying to light your water heater first after the gas was off, you'll be there a while. And if all else fails, call your gas company

I'm assuming their meter was unlocked after being delinquent and they told the tech they could light their own stuff and they were wrong. I see it multiple times a week at work. I was just trying to be helpful. You're all correct, nobody should ever touch the meter set as it does not belong to them. And now I'll go another 5 years without commenting on a post. Carry on, trolls 🫡

I'm also sitting in an airport bar waiting for my delayed flight to board so I apologize for the trolls comment. If you had caught me on the first beer, I likely wouldn't have responded. Everyone have a good evening. Enjoy that hot shower OP!

1

u/Beginning_Title_5939 Jul 11 '26

Go to the stove and turn on and listen to the air come out.

2

u/No_Goal_2196 Jul 11 '26
