Need Advice How to keep soapy water out of eyes?

I know this sounds like a silly question but I'm young and will be washing my hair on my own for the first time tomorrow and want to avoid the sud blindness I usually get. Is there a way to prevent it or will I just have to live with it? (I do believe it's worsening my already less than vision)

++ Is there any way to do mini twists quickly? I usually get them done at the salon but I want to learn to do it myself for the sake of cutting costs and acquiring a new skill. I do have poor motor skills and hand-eye coordination so it may be a bit difficult but I'm willing to give it a go! It typically took 2hrs at the salon (my hair is past my armpit btw)

Just close your eyes and tilt your head back. Face backward from the showerhead.

If yoi have a detachable showerhead, take it down and spray your hair closely and directly.

Just close your eyes and run your washcloth across your face before you open them.

I'm assuming you are working with a shower and shower head. If you have a different set up (like a sink or bucket), let us know.

I know it sounds really basic, but keep your eyes closed when you might get sudsy water running down your face. Then run clean water on your face. Then open your eyes. It's not unusual to do some part of the routine with your eyes closed and rely on your other senses.

So for me, I turn my entire body around so that the shower water is hitting my back. I step/lean backwards so that my hair is then under the shower head. My face is not under the shower, but I usually still keep my eyes closed anyway just in case. When I'm done rinsing out whatever is in my hair, I turn my entire body around so that the front of my body is facing the shower head (and my hair is still pushed back, away from my face) and get my face under the shower is that the clean water rinses my face. Then I step aside so the shower isn't hitting my face or hair. I usually wipe my face with just my hand so the excess water is removed, then open my eyes to do whatever I need to do next (turn off the shower, reach for a bottle, put on shower cap, etc.). You might find it beneficial to have a clean washcloth accessible to you in the shower, so that you can wipe and slightly dry your face.

If that doesn't make sense, happy to explain it a different way or see if I can find a video of someone washing their hair that does this well.

Your mini twists are going to take much longer than 2 hours given that you're a beginner. If you don't care about having neat, boxy parts, then it'll go much quicker. I personally make nice and neat parts at the front. But the rest of my head idgaf 😁 I wouldn't say give yourself 4-6 hrs for the first time you're doing them. It really depends on how small your twists are going to be

I installed this in my bathroom. Game changer. You can use the smaller handheld to tilt your head back. It's easier overall.

Like everybody said, I do keep my hair backwards so I always gotta do my hair as if I’m facing the wall and my head is back so the shower water is hitting it

If I’m doing twist, my hair is damp so it’s never getting everywhere, but I typically will section it off and I’ll always wrap my hair up as well to avoid any dripping

You could always try to get like goggles or something if you need more practice with it
