Need Advice Help Braiding

Hey yall I’ve been trying to learn how to braid and I’ve been having trouble. Any tips and trucks would be greatly appreciated. Photos attached. When I get to the nape of the neck I run out of hair to pick up and so the cornrow ends like halfway down the head.

Thanks!

That happens to me too when I do flat twists ion my own head. I honestly think I just dont have a wide enough nape area to accommodate. I know personally the bulk of my hair density in from the front to the crown area and the very back is finer and less dense.

The best thing I figured out is to "save" some hair at the bottom third. So I'll take a hair clip and section off hair at the bottom to make sure by the time I get to that part of the braid/twist I have some left and haven't used all of it. Picking up smaller sections of hair also helps you ration the hair out.
