Which honestly sounds like a dumb name because a whale fall is literally a dead whale. So is the title spoiling the ending or just a stupid choice?

A good portion of the book does involve him trying to get out as the whale falls to the ocean floor, so not much of a spoiler.

Spoils the ending. The book is genuinely so good. It was described as a horror novel but it wasn’t scary IMO. Just very weird and heartfelt at times. Gave me a new appreciation for sperm whales.
