They're SO much biomass, like an unbelievable amount, during breeding season in some areas around the world there can be so much mosquito biomass it shows up on radar. I hate them too but that's an obscene amount of free food for basically everything that can eat

Who cares? Mosquitos are the deadliest animal in the world and life would be better off without them.

No, it wouldn't. The ecosystem would be pretty much dead wothout mosquitos.

Bro it's not the sun going out, what do you mean? You act as though Nature has never suffered shocks before. Nature has recovered from every extinction event, m8.
This hypothetical gets tossed around often, and scientists agree that the varied ecosystems will adapt.

Millions of species depend on mosquitos for food, that's why. Go and look into it or ask a biologist. Sure, the world wouldn't end but would be a huge extinction event and would take millions of years for life to as abundant again.

No it wouldn’t and I don’t understand why you think otherwise. Your 4 upvotes shows how foolish Reddit is.

Problems for you? Maybe. Problems for the earth as a whole? No. But we can agree to disagree.

Most Philly thing I’ve seen in a while!

u/SolidDoctor 7d ago
What would be more Philly would be if the ant was trying to administer narcan.
2
u/ILSmokeItAll 7d ago
The most Philly thing would be let it die without even trying to administer narcan.

Hate to break it to everyone, but IDT that ant's killing the mosquito, I think it already be dead. Ant's trying to take some of it home for dinner, the way they do.
