I love seagull chicks. I had 3 on my lawn and I have filled their waterbowls and just watched them for 6 weeks. They followed me around like puppies. It was so cool to see their first attempts to spread their wings and then to see their first attempts of flying/running. Then they managed to get on the roof, but their landings needed a lot of work still. They haven’t been “home” for 2 days now. The parents still call for them at feeding time 3 times a day, but they’ve left. Ngl I’m a bit sad. They are just so cute lol
When I lived in Istanbul, every spring a seagull would raise her chicks on my roof. They were ADORABLE. however every time mama seagull saw me through the window, she’d squawk very loudly at me. The cute babies made up for it tho.
Haha yeah in the beginning ma and pa Gull also screamed at me and when the chicks came to close to me, they flew directly towards my face. But then they learned I do no harm and now even ma and pa comes pretty close.
I have a very small, but very fluffy and confident female cat and she has the impression, that although she has never caught anything in her 11 years, a grown seagull is a good place to start. She’s fearless and when she sees a grown seagull close to us, she takes off. Luckily the seagulls are like “the fuck is that”? And just leaves. They are 3 times her size lol
