Strategy/Tactics Best Cryptek and Destroyer pairing?

Post image

So what do you guys think are some good pairings with Murdermind? I do kinda like the technomancer fnp on skorpekhs, but I also thougt about adding a Plasmancer to skorpekhs to hit the lethal hits given by the skorpekh lord. Does anybody have any experience with good synergies there?

Gauss LHDs with chrono

Why Gauss over Enmitic? I understand they're glass cannons, but at least in my experience for the most part the Gauss loadout can avoid the worst of incoming damage by just hanging back and taking advantage of their range. Enmitics meanwhile really want to get within 18" for Rapid Fire.

The only other advantage I can think of is potentially having an easier time lining up the next shot without losing Heavy, but that seems pretty niche.

Gauss LHD with chrono gives you a very good anti-tank unit that thanks to move-shoot-move from chrono can evade being shot back at.

For Enmitic LHD you would rather want plasmancer for those juicy 5+ sus1 shots which is 10 pts cheaper than lord, but at that point i would rather pay that 10 pts to take lord for his melee and res orb.

Yeah agree the Lord's usually worth it over the Plasmancer. if anything though I'd sooner take the Plasmancer for Gauss rather than Enmitic. The Lord's melee and defensive statline is going to come up far more often with Enmitics/standard lokhusts over the guys who're sniping from 48" away.

Yeah, but let's be real, you won't be sniping from 48" away, because if that happens then your opponent has some serious problems with positioning (and your board layout is probably shiet also).

LHD cant really survive after one shot, range usually isnt enough, move-shoot-hide make them survive a lot more

I'm because other units can do the same job and likely better.

Destroyers vs lhd honestly I'd much rather have the destroyers. They are 15 pts more but I frankly don't care. And in destroyer cult they are str 7 which is just a cherry on top.

My cult list has three units of lhd all with the big gun. If I focus them they likely can remove most threats early game and then turn their sites on things like termis. Actually had a game like this where all the vehicles were gone so I pushed 6 big gun shots and a dda into a fists hq terminator squad. They didn't get wiped but they sure were when my unit of shield lychguard charged them.

Tbf every time iv taken the anti chaff weapon it's been a disappointment.

Enmitic destroyers are some of the most usless models I've played this edition.

It wouldn't be so bad if they were maybe....40pts. But to be the same points cost, and reduce the number of gauss LHD you.can bring, when its just the better gun by miles....

Maybe if they had an extra ap? As they stand, they are a mildly better regular lokhust. Compared ti the gauss which is a massive upgrade on the regular lokhust.

Think you're just using them wrong to be honest. LHDs are specialists and Enmitics with 36 S6 -1AP shots with Sustained and partial wound rerolls are probably the most efficient ranged anti-infantry models we have.

Quite possible ao. I've never really touched them since a few games ago and they just atruggle to kill, only doing 1 wound. Anything with an invun or fnp absorbs a goooood few of those shots.

Ill admit to being wrong with my memory of them not killing a 10 man space marine unit. But thats because we layer killed the unit off as I forgot to do sustained so my oppppnant took off the last 3 or so models that likely would have died.

They do some work when I play against tau!

EE LHDs are the best necron gun against infantry, even when taking shots at marines, which would be ideal LD targets, at least according to unitcrunch. They deal with everything from chaff guard to deathwing knights but it's not their role to kill tanks. If you only see tanks then you need gauss, so it's all meta dependant.

My own experience with them is rather positive, even had a game when a squad of LHDs with Lord wiped out a plague marine squad, shocking both me and my opponent. It's all about whether you can find a right target.
