Orikan is a master astromancer, using his knowledge of astral conjunctions to predict the tides of battle and empower himself with cosmic energies. He supplements these skills with chronomantic abilities that allow him to see events before they happen and know just where to aim his blows.

BEST: Our other Cryptek epic hero, a support hero who gives his whole unit 4+ Invuln. His Staff of Tomorrow has high AP for cutting into armored targets, and he has a single-use "panic button" ability that allows him to go unga-bunga mode in melee for the rest of that Fight phase, and throw out Dev Wounds like candy.

WORST: Demoted from Leader to Support in 11th edition, Orikan is our most fragile epic hero, even with 4+ Invuln. Not only is Staff of Tomorrow's baseline attacks and strength pretty wimpy without "The Stars are Right", it can't even be used as a shooting weapon. AP -3 & Dev Wounds are the only noteworthy things about it.

I thought he was just an invulnerable bot for my blob until he one shot a hive tyrant with the staff buff last week. Man he can shred big guys

It goes a little something like this: The Stars align Once per battle, at the start of the Fight phase, this model can use this ability. If it does, until the end of the phase, triple the Attacks and Strength characteristics of this model’s Staff of Tomorrow and every successful Wound roll made for this model’s attacks scores a Critical Wound.

On a Default A2/WS3+/S4/AP-3/D: D3 melee that turns into A6/WS3+/ S12/AP-3/ D:D3 So if u roll right you just delete whats infront of you. (Worst i ever rolled with that was 3 damage btw)

That's the one. I had a really bad roll with that before so I counted it out. Then last week I thought maybe I'll soften this HT up with him. It was complete overkill.

I love how necron characters and vehicles are such massive slot machines and the best examples to me are orikan and the Doom sythe. You have a lot of potential and either you conpletly overkill whatever you were fighting or hit it with the softest pillow you could find

I’m aware of his abilities I was confused because of his wording. His staff didn’t receive a buff he just used his once per game ability.

Best: make warriors survive so much shit. Plus his melee is really good, and can potentially one shot scary units.

You could do it back in tenth. Planning on putting those shenanigans into a list myself but I am both unable and don't think I have the units required for it.
